Business mislead me on what they were suppose to do at me house to take care of the ice problems in my gutters.
I called this business the first week in February to discuss problems that I was having regarding ice build up in one of my gutters in the front of the house. Also let the owner Brad know that the gutter system I have is an underground system. Meaning it goes underneath my front walk and there is a pop up in the front yard for the water to escape. I told him that the gutter looks like it is full of ice and also the front walk has iced over. I told him that I was nervous that the concrete would crack or heave because of this ice problem. He stated that he would come out and assess the problem. He did come out the next day and called me that evening. He told me that this ice problem needs to be taken care of right away or I could have serious cracking or heaving problems in the spring because thats when those issues take place from ice. He told me they would melt the ice that goes underground to prevent that heaving or cracking problem with my sidewalk and also redirect the gutters to the front yard and the charge would be $300/hr.I was very upset has my husband passed away a year and 1/2 ago and not knowing much about issues like this I didnt know what to do except I knew that I didnt want my sidewalk cracking or heaving as we piad alot of money for the stamped sidwealk and apron. He had me in such a panic mode telling me this needed to be taken care of asap. I was upset and crying on the phone but he assured me that he was not out to rip me off. I said ok because I needed to have this issue taken care of. He did have his guys come out that next day to do the job. He called in the morning and said he needed to use my water. So I had to upset the winterization process with my front facet and turn the water back on. Not knowing that I found out he has his own water truck but chose to use my water. I got home that day and number one the gutter was not redirected into the front yard they redirected it just slightly past the walk over a bush. So what happens is the gutter is dripping on the bush and causing major ice build up and then when it is warm melts all over the sidewalk and down on to the driveway .So of course then it gets cold and we are right back to major ice build up on the sidewalk and driveway. He also neglected to tell me that his guys for some reason went around to the back of the house and turned on my back facet - they left that dripping and I didn't notice that isssue for 5 days after they were out. Why they went to the back of my house is beyond me.They left the driveway a mess with dirt and debris. If they had water why wouldn't they clean that up? They also never melted the water in the underground system which was my main concern. When I called him on this he said that would take hours or days to melt that ice. I was a bit confused because like I said that was the main issue. They also fried the outlet by the gutter that they took down. Which in turn made my outside lights not work. I called an electrician and that will cost approx $200.00 to get that repaired. When I called him on this issue he said he didn't know and would check it out with his crew and get back to me but he never did. I received the bill on Friday Feb 8 and the total bill was for $750.00. I was upset because all he did was take down the gutter that had the ice in it, redirect another section of gutter in a bad spot and melt the ice that was on the sidewalk and the bill was for $750.00- that is totally outrageous. I feel totally scammed and taken advantage of. I tried calling him on Monday the 11th and left a message. They said he was in a meeting and would get back to me in 15 minutes. That never happened. Tried calling the next day Tuesday around 4:50 and their answering machinne came on. Never left a message because it would have been extremely lengthly as my complaint shows. Still have not heard from him as of February 14th.
