Resolved] Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:After being VERY nasty he said to bring it back and he would fix it but NOT for free. We would also be responsible for towing it there again so not only could he possibly charge us more for work they were supposed to do in the first place, but we would incur additional costs for towing (getting another trailer)With his attitude and nastiness and statement that he didn't believe my husband made good on all his work because it was the right thing to do, there was no way we would trust him when he wasn't even willing to discuss the damage to the axle which is he biggest part of the problem. He said he would charge for the extra holes and also made the statement that every one makes mistakes but he was not willing to take care of it. The major problem however is not just the work they did not do. The largest part of the damage they caused was to the axle and attached components. I have estimates ranging a little over $1000 (without labor) up to $with labor to fix the damage they caused to the axle by not properly taping all critical components of the axle including the hub and brake components. The hubs need to be repacked or replaced. They are automatic hubs so they cost $a piece or about $to repack as long as that is they are able to be repacked.
When my husband said if one of his customers had a problem that he goes back and fixes it for free, JD said he didn't believe him. He also said we didn't tell them everything to do or not to doWell I did tell the a lot then expected common sense to kick in. There were constant excuses, lies and never even an apology and a statement that they intended to make it right. He wasn't even willing to come look at what they screwed upThey covered the back brakes but not the frontWe are not the sandblasting professionals which is why we took it to them, so we shouldn't have to stand and make sure they don't do anything super stupid. They covered the brake line ends on the front, but primered the rotors, calipers, got sand in the hub, speed sensor and differentialThey primered and sandblasted rubber components and greased components. That is simple stupidity. The way he argued and refused to even consider the damage they caused to the axle, there was no way we were paying him another dime or putting additional money into him. At this point, we have had the frame repaired elsewhere. To remove the primer on the areas on the frame that never should have been primered and reprime and have it towed to the shop, it cost us $135. We are not asking for anything o cover the repairs other than the additional amount we had to pay because they primered over holes that had to be cleaned off and reprimedThe lowest cost (with no labor other than repacking the hubs) we have found to repair the axle and that damage from not taping is $for a minimum total in money we are out $1382.44. We want to be reimbursed in full for what we are out
I did send an email to the Revdex.com stating that I wanted to amend my complaint several weeks ago to cover the axle damage as we had received a full estimate on the actual damage after I first submitted. Regards,*** ***
