customer with water intrusion unrelated to J Duncanson’s work, providing additional caulking in certain areas. The customer’s water intrusion problem was again noted during a home inspection while the customer was selling the home. J Duncanson, again, returned to the home to have its roofing repairs assessed by a representative from the manufacturer of the roof, a certified installer of that manufacturer’s roof, the potential buyer of the home, and that potential buyer’s home inspector. The areas where these nails were replaced are not the areas where this customer is having water intrusion problems. All present at the inspection agreed that J Duncanson’s roofing repairs were not the cause of this customer’s water intrusion problem. All agreed that the home’s water intrusion is being caused by cracks in the stucco exterior of the customer’s home. J Duncanson has made several good faith efforts to resolve this customer’s complaint, despite J Duncanson’s awareness that it was not at fault.

This has been going on for weeks.    [redacted] wanted me to agree to not tearing off the two layers of roofing and just put another roof over those.  I was not comfortable with that, and that I wanted to stick to what the adjustor said should be done.  [redacted] said that the insurance company wouldn't come out to inspect, and that it would be okay.  I refused.    Then they wanted me to agree to pay more money and I said that I had a signed contract and it was for the insurance settlement only.  [redacted] then called a friend of mine and complained to her.  Another roofer at their company got involved when they finally let me choose a color, which I did, but still no date.  The other roofer wanted to redo the contract and have another contract completed.  I declined because I told him that I had a signed contract.    He came out again and said that he needed to go over the numbers with me and that he wanted to be sure about the color.  Of course I said again that I had a contract and that I wanted to set a date for the work to be completed.   They ignored my emails and text messages that we needed to set a date for the all of the work to be completed, not just the main roof on the house.  Then [redacted] came over to my house late one night and was very rude insisting that I talk to her.  My neighbor was with me and she noted how unprofessional [redacted] was to me.  It was dark and they came back yet again, with another person who also got out of [redacted]'s truck.  My neighbor thought that was to intimidate me.  [redacted] later knocked on my door and yelled at me through the door that they were going to give me the check back and that I needed to find another roofer.  I emailed the president of the company that I wanted to talk to him about this incident with his employee and he did not respond to my text or email.  Like I said, this has been going on for a while.  They want to back out of the contract and they are going to lie about me in order to do it.  This is all so sad and unnecessary.  The work needs to be completed.   I have always been willing to allow a roofing company to perform the full scope of the work recommended by my insurance company in exchange for payment of the full insurance settlement provided under my policy.  That is not what is in question.  J Duncanson Roofing simply doesn't want to honor the contract.
