To Whom This May Concern ID #***The paperwork is part of all the driver's times and they need to fill it out so the dispatches know what they did on a callThe driver's time does not stop until the call Is complete and the paperwork is part of the call

April 26, 2016 Complaint ID # [redacted] To Whom It May Concern  JE Herring Motor Co towed [redacted] 2004 Peterbilt Car Hauler loaded with S new Chryslers mini vans off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike per [redacted] (company that he's leased to) [redacted]...

[redacted] paid for the towing of the loaded car hauler. [redacted] has an open account with JE Herring Motor co and we work off of verbal authorization all the time with [redacted]. When the truck was towed in it was dropped inside the shop right away to start to check for the problem. At this point the problem was thought to be a rear end problem and the customer advised that he wanted an estimate for the repairs before the repairs were made. I advised the customer that I could not do the estimate until we had proper time to check the truck to find out for sure what was wrong with the truck and to do that we would need the OK to work on the truck. At this time he still refused to sign the work order and to give us ok to check the truck, At this point in time [redacted] called and wanted an update on the truck and if we had time to check it and if we had an estimate made up yet,I advised [redacted] no we did not check the truck yet do to [redacted] would not give us the ok to check the truck. At this time [redacted] oked JE Herring Motor Co to check the truck. At this point in time JE Herring Motor Co started to check the truck for what the problem was to make sure we were 100% correct of the problem before and estimate was made ad to advise the customer of the proper repair. Grease was drained out of the rear ends and no pieces were found. Did more troubleshooting and determined the problem was in the front rear end. I advised [redacted] of the problem and the rear end had to be removed to find out what all it would need to repair it before an estimate was made up. At this time if I would have just priced a rear end he would have asked why do 1 need a new rear end what is wrong with my old rear end? This is another reason the rear end needs to be removed to confirm what the problem is. He then shook his head and never said to no do not remove the rear end. Over the course of the night we removed the front rear end and found the power divider in the front rear end was all torn up and the only way to repair the rear end was to replace the complete rear end verus repairing his rear end. There was debris all thru the rear end that had to be clean out. Refer to the invoice attached for more details on the repair, l made an estimate up for the repairs at this time. I e-mailed the estimate to [redacted] at [redacted] the following morning and never heard anything back from him. [redacted] E-mailed me in the afternoon and asked for the estimate to be e-mailed to him. I sent the estimate to him. Within one hour he called back and advised to put the truck back together that he is going to drive it to [redacted] (another repair facility in Somerset) to get the rear end replaced. Before he called and advised of this Legacy came out to JE Herring Motor Co shop and looked at the truck and the rear end that we had out and this is how they made their estimate so fast for him because they know what all the truck needed once he called them. JE Herring Motor Co than put [redacted] old rear end back in the truck and assembled as needed so the truck could be driven. Hooked the truck back up to the trailer and moved the truck around the parking lot and the rear end was making allot of noise, [redacted] and [redacted] Service were involved every step of the way to get it to this point. Once [redacted] made all the decisions and the truck was back together he was billed for all the time and now he does not want to make payment. [redacted] has never disputed the bill to JE Herring Motor Co. He went got an attorney right away to have the attorney dispute the billed and never made an attempt to try and settle the bill and never made a phone call about it. Eddie H[redacted] JE Herring Motor Co.

I rate was $150.00 an hour. Mike never specified that it was gonna cost more money if it was a bigger truck. I showed Mike a picture of the Uhual truck.  Then he asked me for my drivers license and he said your from New York and I said yes. I told Mike does that make a difference that I’m from NY. We left the place with the tow truck driver at 12:40 pm and we came back at 1:35 pm. The driver then started killing time by doing paperwork. That it caused me more money while he did his paperwork by an extra ten minutes. At no time did I name call or swear like Eddie stated. I was trying to explain to Eddie how is it that you give one price and then you charge me a different price. He didn’t like that I question him. Eddie then stated to me where are we going with this in a very rude ,disrespectful, sarcastic manner screaming at me very loudly. I then said to Eddie there is no need for to talk to me in that manner. I was trying to explain to you but you don’t but you don’t want to hear me out.

To Whom This May Concern ID #[redacted]We received a call from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission {JE Herring Motor Co is the authorized service for this area on the Pennsylvania Turnpike) to respond to the 103.6 East Bound on the-Pennsylvania Turnpike for a BMW that was having engine problems. The...

customer contacted us and asked what our towing rates where and she was told $95.00 per hour from the time we leave untii the time we get back. She never stated where she was and just wanted the rate. That is when the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission dispatched us to the 103.6 Eastbound. Do to being on the turnpike we must charge the rates that the Pennsylvania Turnpike controls. The rates are $72.00 hook up, $3.50 per mile until the vehicle exits the system then prevailing rate and any labor charge that is associated with the towing that is needed. The charges are as follows in this case. $72.00 hook up 7 miles to exit the system at $3.50 per mile = $24.50 Labor that includes prevailing rate once the vehicle was off the system, unloading of'the vehicle, payment, etc. which comes to $55.50 for a total of $152.00 towing charge. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission controls these rates and ail vendor's rates and prevailing rates are all approved by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.Eddie Herring

Review: My truck was towed to JE Herring, due to the primary rear diff breaking. it took me 5 minutes to diagnose the problem. after having been towed to Herrings lot I requested a parts and labor estimate. instead M. Eddie H[redacted] attempted to have me sign a work order agreememnt, he tried a few times. I declined and simply requested a parts and labor estimate one more time. it was late in the day so I went to the hotel for the night. in the morning I stopped at another truck repair shop and obtained thier estimate no hastle. after that I went back to Herring and found that they had already taken my truck apart. naturally I reminded them that I nore any one els had expressly NOT givin authorization to carry forward with the work. at this time they are sticking a $3000 bill to me for doing the estimate.Desired Settlement: At this time I wish to have them cancel the bill for the estimate and any other fees they may likely have not been up front about. the tow bill has already been settled seperatly. I am fighting to stay in business.
