Called J.F Cook Co/Overhead Door company to report a problem where the garage door fails to close during direct sunlight hours and "remote control failures." I was given a four (4) hour window for Friday Nov 6, 2015 between 11-3pm. At 3:02pm I called to report a "No Show" of the service tech. The woman answering the initial call was very short and FAILED to apologize for the service failure. She then transferred me to someone named "Jay". I was on hold for approx. 5-minutes. After explaining the situation of the "No Show", Jay indicated that his "service tech" called in. This Jay went on to claim he attempted to call my residence numerous times and made up a story of my recorder not working which, was incorrect. I tested it immediately afterwards leaving a successful Test message. So he lied to cover their poor Customer Service. So I wasted four (4) hours sitting around waiting for someone who wasn't even working that day. I asked for another appointment on Monday Nov 9, 2015 and was promised by Jay that he would have his service tech out on Monday and that he would put MY service request on top so it would be the 2nd job scheduled. This Jay indicated that his service tech lived in Racine and had a job first thing on Nov 9, 2015 in Racine and then would head to my address in Cudahy afterwards.
On Monday, Nov 9, 2015 I again waited between 11-3pm for this service tech. I again called to complain and once again, the lady answering the call took on a very rude tone as I asked to speak to "Jay" to complain that their "Service Tech" FAILED to show again nor, give me a courtesy call during the day explaining any delays. As I spoke to Jay, he again put me on hold attempting to contact his service tech. He came back on the line indicating My service call was next in line and it would be approximately 45 additional minutes plus traffic time. When I asked if he (Jay) considered that customer service, he quickly responded "we're doing the best we can." I indicated that I couldn't wait any longer for his technician...Jay responded back quite sharply "We will then move onto the next service call and scheduled you for another day." When I attempted to get some sort of explanation, Jay cut me off indicating "I can get you scheduled for another day". I perceived this as a "Take it or, Leave it" response. I rescheduled for Thursday, Nov 12, 2015 at 08:00am. There were no apologies nor, any mention of compensating me on the projected service fee for the 8 total hours of my time wasted on their SERVICE FAILURES. This company is NOT Customer Service friendly. Silly me for thinking that servicing a product which this company sold and installed would be something they would care about.. Oh, and a special note: my address is approximately 5 minutes or, less from this company's address.

The j.f. cook co (overhead door co) was not up front about any charges for an estimate. My wife was home when the guy came over and I was at work, so she had no idea about the $87 charge that was never mentioned in the initial phone call. So after my wife called me about the charge for an estimate I called them to see why we were charged? Right off the bat the woman on the other line was very rude, once I told here about the situation. After explaining to her about 3 or 4 times what had happened the only thing she said she could do for me was reduce the charge to $47.. The reason why I'm voicing this complaint is because of the unprofessional manner of which she handled herself during the attempt to resolve the situation.

Don't know how this company has an A+ rating with the Revdex.com! On 3-28 called JF Cook at 8am to fix my garage door that turned out to be a broken spring. Total $318. The maintenance guy named Shawn charged me labor from 7:45 and 20 minutes more after he departed. To me this is unethical practice. After looking at all the garage door parts he left estimating the system was good for ten years. One month to the day on 4-28 I had squealing from overhead. Shawn came again and in ten minutes he said I would need a whole new opener and would have someone call with an estimate. In that ten minutes he greased something and I was sent a bill for $121.94 labor. Called and talked to manager who was unsympathetic and didn't seem concerned that his employee was ripping off his customers. If he was doing this to me could he be doing this to all his customers. Not a way to treat a senior citizen. When I asked if he would want to have his mother treated the same he laughed at me. To all those reading this. There are other garage door places to call and I strongly suggest you avoid this one. [redacted] is the last number you should call to avoid getting ripped off.
