Bought the vehicle in December 2019. I was told the vehicle was indeed a 2003 and had 170k miles on it. I asked for carfax, he guaranteed clean no wrecks. I told him by the picture some damage. I fly from GEG to SEA. I find out the truck is indeed a 2002 and had 190k miles on it. With other damage not shown. Heavy traffic, gas gage empty so told lets keep test drive short. the truck hesitated several times. I mentioned concern, but he said it running out of gas. No dash lights on I thought ok. He put gas in it from a can. He then would only take cash, not cashiers check from bank. So paid 50% down. I then learned no plates. I had seen it month or more on lot. He said he would send plates in 30 days and issued a temp. I filled tank on way to spokane. I had got on 18 and just I got to I 90 the car was hesitating worse going uphill, most trip prior was downhill. I called Jack left several messages of having problem, should return, fly home. As proceeding on I90 E. I restarted with engine light came on. It was approx 20 minutes. vehicle stalled out. several calls no answer I left message of having towed back to lot and flying home. I got a call back, said he and family were in Portland to fix vehicle what ever, he would take off next payment. So had work/tow done to get on road. I never got plates mailed. continually stalles needs other work. sent check he refused, wanted in person cash and pick up plates with sexual gestures. Arranged payoff by third party 02/18/20 to pick up plates, parts, refused to meet/gates closed. I mailed letter and repair detail and payoff not cashed. I got a call that guy to deliver plates at home truck was not there. I informed Jack to drop at Wendle/ or in Spokane to finish transfer. Guy did not show up with plates. Dol/no trans fer into jfk from last party/no plates available. Dealer in violation. 2x3 day trip/month at $66 per month. No ability to drive. Covid no travel/no vehicle. No return calls by business except 11:30 pm .
We bought a car from this guy. We made the down payment and first payment. We had temp. Liscence plate until he was going to get them and was supposed to call us on when he got the plates and tags. No call nothing and I went by there about 10 times. Half the times I was able to talk to him and ask him to get them and he never did. The other times he wasn't there. When I went in to make this month's payment he wasn't there and flat refused to work something out since we haven't been able to drive the vehicle for a month due to his irresponsibilities of getting the required state plates and tags to do so.
Four months ago in Sept. I purchased a 1988 Ford F250 from this company. The vehicle it's self is a total lemon and has given me problems from the start (i.e. ignition switch, gas pump.) At this time the truck still doesn't run and I cannot figure out what is wrong it. I have tried to contact the dealer a few time because I have yet to recieve the plates, and it either goes to voicemail or says that it is full. I went to DOL today to get it registered and they informed me that he has yet to put it in my name. They even tried to call him and it said the mailbox was full. The owners name and the person I've dealt with is Jack H. My temp plates are expired and my landlord is going to tow the truck.

This is JFK Auto Sales and Service. This letter is in response to ***'s complaint of a1988 Ford F250 truck that he purchased from us. *** and his mother drove the truck andwere very happy with it at the time of purchase. It's a 30 year old vehicle. They also were aloudthe option to have it inspected before purchase and did not. All of our vehicles are SOLD AS-IS,which means it is the new owner's responsibility for any and all repairs after the purchase. Weare a small family owned business selling "USED" vehicles not new ones.
We are sorry *** is having issues with his purchase, hope he can get them fixed andcontinue to enjoy his truck. Hopefully sometime in the future come and purchase anothervehicle from us at JFK Auto Sales and Service. We try to treat everyone fair but we can't predictwhen something is going to go wrong. We have been in business over 13 years and have neverhad a complaint like this, so I would say that's great odds when selling used cars.
I am rejecting this response because: We were never, at any time during the purchase, offered an opportunity to have the vehicle inspected if We had I would have done so. We were only allowed to look in the engine compartment once. We did drive the truck and it ran fine then, but just days after it broke down. I wonder if it was inspected at all as I have found that the front gas tank appears to have been leaking for quite a long time. The fact they would sell a vehicle that is a potential safety hazard is enough for me to file this complaint.I request the title for the vehicle at this time which they have not sent.Sincerely
