I hired [redacted] and [redacted] at J and F Solutions to paint my house and fix drywall. They came in for about five days and provided very poor services. Before [redacted] started, he advised that he provided great work and only required a $300 deposit after two days because he would be finished with patch work. Well he started and did some patch work (not finishing all) and wanted $300. I provided him with the $300 and told him there was still patch work that needed to be done. He told me to mark the areas with tape and he would fix them. He did not fix them and started painting over tape problems and nail pops that should have been fixed before he started painting. Also, I had to advise [redacted] several times to cover the floor which he would not do. I had to clean up mud and paint from my floor each day he came in so I ended up buying painters plastic to cover the floor. When he started to repair sheetrock, he never sanded, turned corners into curves and cut some of the biggest holes in the sheetrock where plumbing comes out of the wall instead of taking the knobs off before trying to fix the sheetrock. He again painted over the sheetrock before fixing tape problems. He advised that he had finished painting all of my trim and I noticed unpainted areas that I showed him. I told him I would no longer need his services and would not pay him anything further because I have to now hire someone else to fix his problems. He then began to threaten me, sending me vulgar and explicit texts continuously so I contacted the police and showed them the information. Please do not hire these people, they are very unprofessional and provide very bad work that they threaten you to get paid for.

Damage to my home through their sub-standard service practices. I hired J and F Solutions to remove wallpaper and paint my living, dining and powder rooms along with my entryway and a hallway. They damaged my walls during the wallpaper removal process and didn't fix them correctly. Then they painted over the damaged walls. They laid down tarp but still managed to get paint on my hardwood floors. They also missed painting large areas on the walls and painted areas where there was no intent to paint; woodwork, wainscoting and crown molding. I have been trying to work with them to come back and have them fix their errors and they never seem to have the time to work me into their schedule. [redacted] also claims they have not received some of my text messages, but they respond to each one. He refuses to pick up my phone calls. My next option is small claims court. Desired SettlementI am going to need to hire professionals to come in and repair all of their errors. I would like for them to pay for this work as it is as a result of their inability to perform their services per their advertisement. They guaranteed their work and they have not held to their contractual obligation.Business Response We setup a time to do any necessary touch ups for Ms [redacted] but was not allowed. Our services are not paid for until the job is completed to the customers satisfaction after completing a walkthrough. I do not understand why would you pay for services which you were not satisfied.Consumer Response JandF Solutions insisted that I pay them before they left at the end of their 4 day work week and that they would be back on the following Monday to finish my home. They never returned as they said the fact I was not hiring them to paint my kitchen cabinets and the remainder of my home "threw them for a loop". I did set up a time with JandF Solutions to remedy their terrible service. However, they did not show up on the appointed day and time. When I followed up with [redacted] he said that my text message response of "received" to his text message which read: "I need to know you got this message or I will go on with my regular schedule" was not acceptable. They did not show up as scheduled. I have since hired another firm to correct all of the poor service. It took another firm 2 days to repair all of the issues that JandF Solutions left at my home. I am seeking monetary reimbursement from JandF Solutions for my costs associated with hiring another firm to repair my walls and complete the paining of my living, dining, powder rooms and the entryway and hall of my home. I am happy to provide all text messages exchanged with JandF Solutions, as well as photographs of my home before they started, after JandF Solutions were "finished" and the way my home looks now after a reputable company completed the job. Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I am taking legal action against JandF Solutions in Wake County, NC court to recover the costs associated with repairing my home following the completion of their services. Although I am seeking a financial remedy, I am also wanting to provide this information as a public service to others who may be interested in retaining this company for their home needs. People need to know the type of company JandF Solutions is before they hire them.

We are heartbroken as a result of some of the poor quality of work that was performed, company did not stand up to guarantee of customer satisfaction. No written estimate or final invoice was ever given to us. We had to call multiple times for owner to return to finish clean up on the job, which was still not completed. Several times he said he would come by and never showed up or called. We were left with a beam that before was beautifully stained that was not to be touched that they painted over (this will cost us hundreds of dollars to repair!). Over spray on all windows, painters tape left behind. When we tried to remove the tape ourselves, paint on trim was coming up with it. When we asked them to come back to remove it, we were hit with a very poor attitude and told that WE were crossing the line when we brought up the fact that the beams were ruined and would cost to replace. At that point, the owner threatened to leave and not even finish with cleaning up HIS mess, so my husband relented and asked him to at least clean up the tape and over spray on the sky lights. We are now left with a very poor paint job (clearly you can see drip marks from where the cut-in was done with too much paint on the brushes and then it was painted over). We had to take razor blades to our brand new windows and scrape off the over spray in order to save the warranty on them. (Didn't even bother asking the company owner to clean this up - didn't want more attitude.) They also dumped the paint hazardous waste water in our back yard where our puppy dog could get to it and may have gotten ill and/or tracked it back into the house, causing even more paint repairs to be done and maybe even vet bills! In the end, we were called liars and left with even more to be done and very heartbroken. This business owner refused to even give us his last name!!! Claimed it was "[redacted]". This one-room paint job was certainly not worth over $600!!! If anything, I feel that we are entitled to at least the cost of the repair to the beam which is $450, but we will settle for half of our money back. I feel that we gave Mr "[redacted]" several opportunities to correct the situation and he chose to take a very unprofessional direction and even a threatening tone. We even fear a sense of retaliation with filing this complaint.Desired SettlementWe would like to be reimbursed at least 50% of our money back to help pay for the cost of damages done to a beam that was damaged beyond repair and needs to be replaced/stained. We will happy to provide an itemized statement showing the cost of this exceeding the amount of our request. We feel that this is extremely reasonable.Business Response We at JandFSolutions stand by the services that we provide to our customers and we do not receive, request or accept payment until we do a walkthrough with our customers after the completion of the job. This job in particular is no exception to that the area that we painted upon arrival had obvious runs on the wall and areas that needed repair and we offered that to them at no additional charge but Mr [redacted] declined. We in the beginning did a walkthrough and discussed what areas where to be painted and this was written in the contract. An area that surrounds a door is considered trim. During the process we again asked Mr [redacted] befor we painted it do you what this trim painted as well and he said yes. Myself and two others heard him say that. The first we heard of the trim around the opening was not to be painted is when he called back. We had to fit in time to go back there only to be ranted and yelled at which upset us as well because we were trying to get an understanding of what was done that was not to his satisfaction. We cleaned any and all areas that he wished, we also offered to sand and remove the paint at half the price we would normally charge to ensure that he was satisfied. We at no time spoke with a [redacted], she is not the person who signed the contract nor did she contact us for the services. I feel that there was a lack of communication between them and do not feel that I should have to be punished for this. As I stated I offered a resolution and tried to remain calm throughout this whole situation. I harbor no hard feelings whatsoever even with this complaint because we only attempted to give the customer what was requested. Any paint can be removed without causing any damages to the area especially an area that was not primed and had stain on it. I wish that they were not unhappy but honestly I only provide services that the customer request and as I stated it was in the contract. I at no time bullied or pressured him into payment if he was not satisfied with the services he had an option at that time to discuss it with us and we could resolve it then. We went the additional mile to comeback to make sure he was satisfied only to be verbally abused. I do not wish to be of service to them as I feel that it is more of a hassle than the pay. I would ask that in the future if Ms [redacted] is the person who is requesting services that she is present to speak with the contractor to ensure that she receives the outcome she desires, which to me could have avoided all this confusion. I hope the best for them with any other services in the future.
