Bunch of lairs
They told me they would deliver it by 2:00 p.m. the next day 2:00 p.m. comes they're not here and I'll call her and they're very very mean on the phone like they don't care for their customers and then they complained about the rain and we come up to the town and it's not even raining so and the man says they only do it on their time they're not worried about customers at all

Do not buy
I bought a range last summer, Ive had issues since months after buying it. I would call Frigidaire, who them scheduled the service call. Only for the service center to cancel because their rep said no appliance bought from J Hicks is covered under warranty even though they tell you a one year manufacturer warranty. Since last year, maybe Sep, Ive reached out to get a copy of me receipt, I was told only the owner can get it and he would call me back, never has happen as of today April 7, 2020. Today while boiling water some bubbled over, I heard popping and the inside of my stove caught on fire, I almost lost my house today, possibly my life, my 13 yr old and pets had I turned away while it was boiling. My outlet in my wall is burnt as well, so that gets replaced as well. I have a feeling this should gave never been sold, it was defective since day one. I highly advise not to buy from J Hicks

I inquired about a lg refrigerator on facebook market place.
I messaged one of the employees chris about the lg refrigerator and asked all the details if it had any damages. He sent me one picture of the the scratches on the door of the fridge. It was listed for $849 I asked him could the price be lowered to $700 for 2 reasons 1. I would be driving 5 1/2 hours from atlanta georgia to lexington tennessee to come get the refrigerator 2. Because of the damages. Chris explained to me that the best he could do was $800 because it was brand new out of the box which we agreed was the final price. He also gave me other options on different refrigerators at different prices but I was satisfied with the one I wanted. Friday 10/19/2018 (today) I made the drive to be there when they open. They opened 30 minutes late. Once they did finally decided to show up chris himself showed me the fridge and to my surprise it was completely damaged! The inside had scratches. More dents on it than you could share a stick at! I asked chris why didn't you mention any other the other damages this looked use he said that he had to rebuild the inside because it came with no shelves. I explained to him when you are in retail you are to fully disclose all damages then I asked could we negotiate the price because of the dents and scratches on the inside he didn't tell me about he said to me i'm really supposed to sell it to you for $900 but $860 is the best I can do including taxes. I was flabbergasted I explained to him that we discussed a firm price over the phone 2 days ago before I drove out here. He said yeah it's nothing I can do sorry. Very nonchalant and unremorseful! So now I missed work, waisted $150 in gas to get here, my time, and an entire 12 hours of my day of driving. I am highly disappointed in the service of this establishment and I don't advise anyone to shop here because they are not honest at all about their merchandise. Do not waste your time!

The refridgerator was sold with them knowing it was defective. They had put a hard start relay on the appliance to get it to work through warranty.The refridgerator was purchased 1/24/14, contacted J. Hicks appliances about 2 weeks beyond the 30 day warranty because after having an appliance repairman check on the non working fridge we learned that it had a "hard start" relay on it which meant it was sold knowingly with problems that would only last past the 30 day warranty. The repairman replaced the compressor, the relay, thermostat and defrost timer and fan, basically the entire operating system of the fridge. We informed J Hicks appliances of the damages which we stopped at $425 dollars because we only had $350 cash invested in the fridge to begin with. We were out a total of $775 on a refridgerator that never worked properly and had to purchase another on top of that. When tested the refridgerator was pulling 36 amps and should only run around 2 which could have burned down our house besides it burning up the motor and components of the appliance. They were very rude when we tried to get some resolution and the owner informed us we could take him to court he would laugh in our face because his uncle is the judge. Since our misfortune with J Hicks appliances we have heard of 4 incidences since ours because this is a small area, they are taking advantage of people.Desired SettlementI seek whatever would be considered fair to myself and future customers as stated above I purchased the fridge for $350, it then cost $425 in trying to make repairs, and then later had to purchase another fridge. They appear to be in the business of making temporary fixes to their appliances, long enough to make the sale and it becomes others problems. We even referred a family member over to them immediately after our purchase and they ended up with the same situation it was fixed up to last just past 30 days warranty and they also had to go buy another as well. Their business practices are unacceptable to knowingly sell faulty merchandise. Business Response Did not receive first letter or would have replied sooner . The first issue states I was contacted 2 weeks after the warranty was up, which would mean this case shouldn't have even been opened . And the relay is called a 3 in 1 relay . You chose this hard start term . I have a 3 in 1 on my refrigerator at home . You can't say that was the cause of any issue and I buy appliances previously repaired from others . I personally may have not done this repair . And I always help people out even after the warranty is up if they are nice when contacting me . Always. But they chose to bring it to someone else and way overspend on the repairs. I even spoke to a gentleman on the phone and told him even after he threatened me with court and told him to bring it to me and I would make it right . He then changed his attitude and was very polite and said he would bring it the following week . He didn't bring it, nor have I been contacted . Not even once. I understand I can't make everyone happy but anyone who has came to me with an issue in sincerity it has been resolved . I have thousands of my appliances in peoples homes across West Tennessee . Majority of my customers are repeat customers because I do stand behind my work . The person , [redacted] , who filed this complaint has never spoken to me nor was the one who purchased said item so the fact that Revdex.com even filed this complaint is completely outrageous. Any appliance that fails after said warranty within a reasonable amount of time has always and will always will be repaired or replaced .
