I am writing
in response to the allegation that we did damage to a vehicle while performing
maintenance activities. First, I would
like to make it clear, although this is the first one I have had under my
watch, we take this type of complaint very seriously.
Performing maintenance activities, especially
in multi-family communities, does not go without incident. It is our culture to be as safe and considerate
as possible but our employees are groomed to not only be careful but to also be
honest as I/we understand accidents happen and we want to right any wrong and
never jeopardize our relationship with the public, our customer, or the Revdex.com
Upon receiving
this complaint I called the accused into my office and set the ground for a
very open and honest conversation. I was
assured he was telling me the truth when he described the incident as follows
We were
mulching the community and driving a truck full of mulch to specified locations
and unloading said mulch. There was a
driver and workers who were unloading as well as spotting the driver. The driver said he was not aware of hitting
anything nor did his spotters say anything.
They were performing their activities, and approximately an hour after
they were even in the area of the alleged incident the individual filing the
complaint drove up in the vehicle and started accusing us of scratching his
truck on the tailgate and along one side of the truck.
My guy said
the truck was also loaded up with household belongings as he was in the process
of moving
My employee
said that he told the individual that if we did in fact cause the damage that
we would correct the issue but he was not aware that he caused any damage and
to his statement he didn’t and this is what he told the insurance company
My thought
is that if we did scratch a vehicle, how did we scratch both the tailgate and
the side of the truck if it was in a parking spot? If the individual did see us damage the
vehicle, why did it take approxan hour for him to come driving up after they
were even in the are of his truck? I
know if I saw someone scratch my vehicle I would confront them immediately.
My summary
is that my employee believes he did not scratch the truck. Again, if we did and it was obvious we did we
would be more than happy to take care of the problem. We are a national landscape company and the
cost of fixing a vehicle is far less that fixing a reputation
It is my
conclusion, after having and open conversation with my team and what they told
me that we did not do the damage to the truck.
If it is proven otherwise and happened without us knowing or even worse,
with us knowing and my team reporting to me a statement action will for
sure be taken
