J & J Real Estate Reviews (5)

I had the pleasure of having Mike [redacted] @ JJ reality as my real estate agent, He was very professional and really listened to what kind of apt I was looking for. He was very patient and meet me when he said he would and answered all my calls. I would refer Mike to all my family and friends who needed reality help with renting or buying. The experence from start to finish was Fantastic! Thanks Mike in finding me a very nice apt.

Complaint[redacted] showed up 20 minutes late for our appointment, hurriedly showed me the apartment while talking on the cell phone for most of that time. He encouraged me to apply by paying an "application fee" of $25. Thereafter he contacted me only once. When I contacted him, he said on several occasions that he was running it by the [redacted], the [redacted] was getting ready to make a final decision, etc. He never got back to me about the [redacted]'s decision. I just looked on their website and although the apartment is being advertised on craigslist months in advance, it is NOT on their website. I have no idea if the apartment is even a legitimate rental property. I am very apprehensive that I gave my personal information and money to this man.Product_Or_Service: Real EstateDesired SettlementI would like a refund of my $25 application fee.

Refund of application fee for apartment. Was told apt I applied for was being sold and not available for rent. No one will return my calls. I applied for an apartment at 2 [redacted] in [redacted] thru J*J Real Estate. My rep was [redacted] I gave her my application and 2 checks totaling [redacted] for my application and my boyfriend's application fee. I was called by [redacted] boss who's name I believe was [redacted] and he told me that the house I applied for was being put on the market this week and that they wanted to keep the 1st floor vacant. Then he told me that he woman renting it didn't like what she saw on my boyfriend's application, NOT background/credit report, which is fine, however, I was told the reason they weren't renting to us was because the house was being sold and NOT because of what he had on his application. Today I was back on [redacted] and the unit was listed. I had a friend of mine contact them and ask about the apartment. She was told that it was still available and the rep asked her when she wanted to come view it. If the apartment was being sold and they wanted to keep it vacant then why tell someone else it was still available? I have tried calling the office as well as texting [redacted] regarding getting my application fee back, because if the house is being sold and not available for rent then my application should never have been processed. No one will return my calls or my texts. I want my 2 checks returned one for [redacted] and one for [redacted] And I want to know why I was lied to. Like I said, if it was something on the application they didn't like, then fine, but to lie and tell me the house was being sold and they aren't renting it is a bit shady.Desired SettlementI want my [redacted] (2 checks, one for [redacted] and one for [redacted] returned) and I want to know why I was lied to.Business Response To whom it may concern,I am [redacted], the owner of J&J Real Estate. I have reviewed the file with my agent [redacted] It is true that I called her and let her know that the property will be put up for sale. The property as of today, [redacted] 2014 has not been put on the market. I have not deposited either of the two checks she wrote out to J&J Real Estate on the [redacted] of [redacted] the two checks equaling [redacted] The reason I did not deposit either of the checks is because we did not feel it was fair to her to deposit these checks. I have been asked by the landlord to continue to show the property and find occupants who have no criminal background as she would need to disclose the background information to the potential owners. If anyone has any questions or concerns feel free to give me a call at our office at XXX-XXX-XXXX or my cellphone at XXX-XXX-XXXX. I am also willing to provide any documentation necessary to solve this problem.Best regards,[redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I want an apology for being lied to. All I was originally told was they were putting the house on the market that week and the owner wanted to leave the first floor vacant, THEN there was mention of my boyfriends application but the reason I was given is that the apartment was no longer for rent. I tried to call your office multiple times. I left a message, then the other times no one answered. I tried to reach [redacted] but no response. You blatantly lied to me. If you told me the reason was because of my boyfriends info on the application paperwork, then I would have understood as I manage properties for a living, but you straight out lied to me and said they wanted to keep the place vacant. I asked that my checks be mailed back to me via text to [redacted] and by a vm I left in your office. I have had other dealings with your agents and your whole company seems pretty shady to me. I was completely honest about my boyfriends background. Which was also 15 years ago. I was honest with you from the start, I expected you to be honest with me and you lied. As of today, I have not received my uncashed voided checks back from your office as requested. Final Business Response Ms. [redacted]'s voided checks were mailed to her last week. I never lied to her about the property being put up on the market for sale. The [redacted] number for the property is XXXXXXXX which can be looked up on [redacted] or [redacted] . The property is currently Under Agreement for sale . When Ms. [redacted] initially put in the applications for the property to rent, I did not know the landlord wanted to put the property up for sale . When I presented the applications to the owner that is when we found out that she was going to put it up on the market for sale. If I initially knew that the property was going to be put for sale I would have never ran both back-round check. Even though it clearly states on our applications that applications fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and both of them signed agreement, I never deposited her checks. Several days after finding out that the landlord wanted to put up property for sale she did call me and had cold feet and told me to continue to list for rent which I did . That is why Ms. [redacted] saw the listing back up on[redacted] . The owner once again changed her mind and finally put up for sale on market and we immediately stopped showing. Nevertheless Ms. [redacted] application was immediately rejected due to her boyfriend ' s application not being accurate due to his criminal back-round. She only told of us of one arrest. Six pages of arrests is not being accurate.
