We have received the complaint initiated with the Richmond area Revdex.com on September 3, 2014.  In reviewing your contract for services, there was more to the contract for services than what was outlined in your complaint.  Our contract for services included re-install existing block bordering walkway, parge front porch, removal and installation of steps and walkway.  We received a phone call the evening of the concrete pour, when I returned your call you indicated you had since spoke with your husband, and he answered the questions you had.  In addition I corresponded via email addressing any and all questions asked of us thereafter.  In that email we advised you that concrete takes time to cure, and that you needed to get some type of erosion control in place, as you have exposed landscape beds that run off in the project area.  We advised you in an email corresponded on May 20 that you needed to get mulch down or you would have a constant problem.  J&K Patio also provided you with a cost to provide and install the mulch so the run off would not affect the concrete a warning previously heeded.  When [redacted] initially came on site for your estimate the drainage, and failing gutter system on site were discussed, and we cannot be responsible for the items that you opted not to contract for service that contribute to the problem.  Furthermore the pictures that you shared in an earlier email show no evidence of any “chips” and/ or holes.  Our contract specifically states we cannot be held liable for color variations, and the concrete walkway provided was in the range of substantial workmanlike manner.  In your complaint to the Revdex.com you stated that we do not respond.  I responded to all of your phone calls and emails received.  You state that the last correspondence was July 8th I have no record of that conversation only of contact made on or before June 3rd so it is unclear to me when anyone with J&K Patio failed to respond, and that is not something our company does.  We pride ourselves on the customer service we provide, and make ourselves easily accessible to our customers.  As far as the concrete being uniform in color, it is suggested that you address the drainage problems on site, and have the gutters in good working order, and erosion control in place.  The concrete can be painted or stained to achieve the color uniformity you are desiring once the referenced items are completed.  We are willing to repair any chip and or hole that you have noticed, as well as provide you with an estimate for staining or painting the walkway and steps.

Review: We paid $2250.00 for them to remove and replace our front walkway and steps. The finished product is not uniform in color, chipped and has a hole. We have reached out to the business numerous times and they don’t even respond.Desired Settlement: Refund so we can have the work redone properly.
