Review: Color and sealer began chipping off our stamped concrete patio after only six months after installation of patio. Company will not fix the problem.
Our stamped concrete patio was installed by J & L Concrete in October of 2012. It looked beautiful when it was completed and worth the thousands of dollars we spent but that didn't last long. In the beginning of spring 2013, we noticed white spots all over the patio where the sealer and color had chipped off. I contacted J & L and spoke to project manager [redacted]. He advised me that he would come to look at the patio and let me know what needs to be done. After a couple days, [redacted] called to tell me he looked at the patio and concluded that the sealer failed and needs to be removed and reapplied. He said he would speak to the owner ([redacted]) about the problem and get back to me. He called back a little while later and said I needed to pay for the new sealer and J & L would apply it. I wasn't happy about this but agreed just to get it fixed. He said he would send someone out to do a test patch and call me back. After a couple weeks with no phone call, I left a voice message. [redacted] called me back and said he would have [redacted] call me. [redacted] called a few days later informing me that the patio needs to be stripped, recolored, and resealed. He said he would talk to [redacted] and let me know when they can do it. After numerous phone calls to both [redacted] and [redacted] and four months later, nothing has been done. I even sent an e-mail to express my frustration on May 23 after which [redacted] called to express his frustration with [redacted]. At one point [redacted] said they would be at our house on between July 17 to July 19. We took all of our furniture off of the patio, including the hot tub that we had to drain and move onto the lawn. When they didn't show up, I called [redacted] once again and was told that he cannot get [redacted] to put our patio in his schedule and that I should contact [redacted] from now on. After another month and five phone conversations with [redacted] about how busy he is and maybe he'll come to our house next week, our patio still remains ugly and chipped. Voice messages left with both [redacted] and [redacted] have not been returned.Desired Settlement: We would like our patio repaired immediately or be reimbursed for paying another company to fix their mistake.
