I am rejecting this response because: I never stated that had mechanical issues there is no proof of it!  The only proof there is that I came in the lot driving with no mechanical problems simply came back to a vehicle that coild not move. There are surveillance cameras  to proof my complaint! Which they refuse to show the tapes! The only thing I stated was that my car is a manual and didnt need anyone burning my clutch. So I prefer that no one would drive it.

Review: On April 30, 2015 I park my my car where I normally would park when I work in the city, at J&L Parking lot near Newark Penn Station. This day I had no cash on me so ask a Spanish speaking lady if I can a ticket to pay when I come back and she said yes but I would have to leave my keys. Well I was very uncomfortable leaving my keys being I had a Manual vehicle, being I didn't want to run late I took their ticket, left my keys with the Spanish speaking lady and when on to work. Approximately 8am, I come back about 6pm to the parking lot to get my car, I first go to get my keys with my ticket and pay out my 10$ fee for all day parking. When I go into my car I noticed it was moved from the previous place. When I go to start my car I immediately notice I can not put my car into gear! I shift to 1st nothing I shift to reverse nothing. So I storm out asking what Happen to my car! The gentleman that was there told me nothing happen. So I go back to take a look and I see oil/grease out from the bottom of my car, so I take pictures and call the cops. Cops get there and say they could not do a report because it was a private property lot and I would have to get in contact with the landlord. So I called my insurance and put a claim and waited till the morning leaving my car there overnight. Next day I go take better pictures and start calling the company, I was so furious because the receptionist would not get me in contact with the owner, he was shielding himself through them. They call me back saying they couldnt do anything and to remove the car out of the lot using a tow truck On my expense. Or it will have to be towed by them on my expense. I told them I want to see the camera tapes they told me no and that was their final answer. So I called to tow it and take it to a mechanic shop to find out what had happen. The result was they had somehow snap my axle & grind the teeth of the clutch which you can see in the pics.Leaving me to pay the tow, repairs and losing a days work!Desired Settlement: I would like to get reimbursed for: the repairs of my vehicle, my $10 back for the day parking, and the cost of my towing.

To whom it may concern: On April 30, 2015, the customer wanted to park in our lot and the lot attendant (Spanish speaking lady) informed him that he had to leave his keys with her and would have to valet his car. There were no issues at this time. Later that afternoon, the lot attendant asked her fellow co-worker (gentleman) to move the customer’s car to make room for another car. **Please note that when cars are valeted, there is always a good chance that cars are moved to accommodate other cars**. When the co-worker (gentleman), who has experience driving both manual and automatic cars, attempted to move the customer’s car from the parking spot he heard a loud explosion sound and was unable to move the car from that point on. When the customer arrived to our parking lot that evening and realized he could not move his car he approached our employee (the gentleman). Our employee explained to him what happened and the customer stated that J&L Parking should have not moved his car because it had some issues and there was a particular way the car needed to be handled. Ultimately, the customer was aware that his car was not in the proper condition to be handled by anyone other than himself and for that reason the customer should not have let J&L Parking valet his car. J&L Parking Corp. is not responsible for customers’ cars who already come in with mechanical issues. At this point, we informed the customer that he must tow his car at his own expense due to no fault of our own. The customer contacted our office and the secretary informed him that J&L Parking was not responsible for the customer’s damages due to the car having mechanical issues prior to entering our parking lot. Thank you, J&L Parking Corp.
