Revdex.com:I do not agree with their response. I feel like I was taken advantage of and they obviously do not care how they treat their customers. I was never quoted for the job of what they are stating. All the quote said was "snake" out ** feet and no other service. For them to claim they lowered there price to more of a basic job is just wrong. The technician never mentioned he would be doing less of a job for the lower price than he would if I paid their asking price. They can write all they want about giving a commercial discount or whatever they are claiming, but this is not what happened. He immediately dropped the quote from $[redacted] to $[redacted] when I said I thought it was high. Never said I won't do this or that for the service, but I can get the price down. Then dropping the price again to $[redacted]. Again, never mentioning he wouldn't be providing the same service if I paid the original price. A customer should never feel like they are being taken advantage of when the need their service. It was uncomfortable and I should of never been placed in this situation. The details they are claiming that took place did not happen. If there explanation is what should of happened, they need to do a better job of training their employees. This whole situation is simply unacceptable.
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Our technician gave appropriate options/quotes for clearing of his drain which were not exactly what was stated in this complaint.  We absolutely do not have different rates for different towns as stated by the customer.  Our technicians are able to negotiate a lower price if any only if...

we reduce the amount of work that we do.  For example we cable lines, treat lines with pipe shield and camera lines.  If we do reduced amount of work per the customers request, we are allowed to reduce the cost.  We are also able (upon managers approval) give one time discounted "commercial rates".  We are not here to "rip" people off and we are definately not here to pop open a drain, collect money and walk away.  We thoroughly cable all the way out to the City tie in and if jetting is desired, again, we thoroughly jet each connection joint paying special attention to roots, cast iron scale build up, etc.  We also offer best warranties in the business and use high tech equipment, not just handyman equipment.  Our prices are standard of the industry, some companies are cheaper and some companies are more expensive, however, you must compare the amount/type of work that is being performed.  We are not aware of any company comparable to ours that only charges $** for a kitchen sink, that may be handyman, or some type of coupon/incentive/special that is running since business is slow or something that a business may choose to do.  We stand behind our prices and our technicians and our work.  We did, at no time, "throw our technician under the bus".  We simply apologized to the customer that our technician did not make him feel comfortable about our prices and that we are able to discount if discounted work is done.  Our technician gave the customer a discount and cleared his drain of the back up.  One of our owners spent quite some time on the phone with this customer hearing his concerns and trying to reassure our ethical business practices and explaining our discounting policies if reduce work is performed.  Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do to change his mind.
