Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I only signed for the shop to do a preliminary estimate and breakdown of the vehicleI never authorized them to begin any repairsNo cost of repairs, or even an estimate was ever given to me by J& M autobody before they begin and completed repairsI was only notified of repairs that were completed upon receiving a call from the shop on Tuesday August 11th at 2:pmBefore that day I had no awareness of any repair work that had began to be done to the vehicle because I never agreed to any repair work to be done to the vehicleOnly thing I ever authorized was for the shop to do a breakdown of the vehicle to compose an estimate for State Farm because to my understanding that was part of the insurance company protocol J & M Autobody Shop never received authorization from me to begin repair work to my vehicleHowever, they took it upon themselves to begin work on the vehicle and then told me to not worry about it because the insurance company would cover the costsAlthough the insurance company did cover the costs, I never authorized this shop to begin any work on my vehicle which is illegal of them The shop never told me that they would begin repair work on my carJ & M Autobody never discussed any costs of repair, estimated time of completion of repair, what would be repaired, or nothing of the like with me before beginning and completing repair done to the vehicle J & M Autobody supposedly done body work to my vehicleMy car was stolen on July 31st and then retrieved on the night of August 3rdWhen I retrieved my stolen vehicle it had apparent damages as the windshield had been smashed in, and three tires were flatJ & M Autobody took it upon themselves to complete "body work repairs" on the vehicle that I never seen as an issueI had to have the car towed from J & M Autobody after they "repaired the vehicle" because they took it upon themselves to do body workWhy would I authorize body work to a vehicle that was not running no mobile because it was on flats? My law background has educated me far more than that My vheicle was towed initially to Luxury Autobody SHop Miramir Inc on the night of Sunday August 3rd and that is the shop that I chose to have the repair estimate doneHowever, that shop was booked and they had the car towed to J & M AutobodyI knew nothing of J & M autobodys reputationAnd did not select for my car repair estimate to be done by themHowever, because it was only an estimate I obligedI never expected this company would treat me so unfairly and do unauthorized work to the car because they knew I would receive payment for the damages from my insurance company I filed a complaint with BAR Bureau of Automotive Repairs and have been working with the specialist [redacted] Who can confirm that this shop could have possibly documented anything without it being factualIn order for them to meet BAR certification process all they had to do was have something documented saying I gave them authorization of repairThis shop is saying that I gave them authorization to repair my vehicle over the phoneThey have no physical proof any authorization that I have ever given them besides the preliminary estimate authoirzation that I gave themI never authorized them to repair my vehicleI only have ever authorized the shop to do a break down estimate of my vehicleIn which they never done I have printed phone records to show my communication with my insurance company as well as J & M AutobodyAnd it can be provided if necessarySimply put, this company begin repair work to my vehicle without my authorization.This situation has caused so much stress and hardshipI had enough going on with dealing with my car being stolen and because I was in the process of moving when it was stolen, much of my personal property was stolen with itIt had been such a heartacheIn addition to that situation only days later did my father grow terminally illSo to have this company scam me as such, has really been the straw that has broken the camels back on my outlook towards humanityHowever, I am trusting in the systems in place that justice will be servedI have tried to show mercy, but this company assumes no wrong doing when it fact, all documentation shows that they are in the wrong and should be repimanded for their wrongs I can provide my phone call logIt will detail not only when phone calls were made but the duration of those callsNo call has ever been made to me or by me to J & M AutobodyHow much time would it take to actually discuss with me cost of repairs, repair damage needed, estimate of repair work time and etcSurely it takes more time than what they have ever called and spoke with meHowever, none of that time has ever been given because an authorization was never given This company does not deserve to be in business if they continue to do unethical work as suchLegal actions will proceed if no settlement is made and this company does not accepts their wrong doings The phone records will also show that the dates and times that J & M autobody have stated that I spoke with the insurance company and that they communicated with me are not consistentI can provide more documentation moving forwardSo much time and stress has been already made, I am hoping that no more time will be taken up and that this company will finally admit wrong and pay what they owe me for doing unathorized work to my vehicle Regards, [redacted]

My name is *** ***, manager at J & M Auto Body
On 8/5/14, Miss *** car was towed into the shopOn 8/6/14, Miss *** came to the shop to give me a singed list of damage from theft to her Acura
MDX. At this time she signed authorization to teardown car, statefarm pay direct sheet, power of attorney to cash all checks from statefarm auto watch which is online service to see car being repaired, On 08-07-statefarm came out and wrote estimate of record, on 08-07-4:I called Miss *** and went over estimate with her, she was concerned with tire betterment and was to call statefarm about tires, at that point she oked me to begin repairs, on 08-08-state farm came out and updated estimate, they said they were taking rear bumper off estimate due to the fact she had already claimed rear bumper and cashed out
I discussed this with Miss *** at 4:08-08-and told her bumper not on estimate now, supplement oked at this time. On 08-12-I called Miss *** to give status of repairs and to ask if she had talked to statefarm about tiresAt this point she said stop repairs she was going to call statefarm, she said she did not want car repaired. Statefarm called and I told them she oked repairs paint and body were doneState farm said she owes us for what has been done because now she wants to cash out on repairsState farm came out a third time because Miss *** wanted to cash out on another claim
Miss *** called me back and said she will not pay for what we have done , she has family member very sick and needs to get back eastState farm adjustors name is *** ***, ***, claim number ***At this time we emailed estimate cost to have car towed out without putting car back together , that amount was 1050.83, also gave estimate with car being reassembled of 1253.38, on 08-25-
Miss *** said she wanted her car put back together to be towed out , that final amount was also emailed her final total which she paid with cashers checkAfter she picked up car she went to Chase bank to try to stop us from cashing checkThe Bureau of automotive repair came to shop and we gave them copies of all paperwork, *** *** said paperwork seemed to be in order with authorizations his number is ***

No cost of repairs, or even an estimate was ever given to me by J& M autobody before they begin and completed repairs. Before that day I had no awareness of any repair work that had began to be done to the vehicle because I never agreed to any repair work to be done to the vehicle. This company does not deserve to be in business if they continue to do unethical work as such. Legal actions will proceed if no settlement is made and this company does not accepts their wrong doings.

Not sure what to do with this customer The BAR has reviewed her complaint and they agree with all are paperwork. They are not recommending a refund to the customer. We did everything right.
