We took our trailer to J & M Trailer Repair to have some hangers replaced and new bushings installed, they replaced the hangers on the front axle and replaced the right rear hanger on the rear axle of the trailer. 6 weeks later the weld on the right axle broke immediately after getting loaded causing the trailer to run into the building at he shipping facility. We had to call a repair man out to re-weld the work done by J & M Trailer Repair and drive a hour to get a new airbag that was busted by the broke hanger resulting in a lost day of work, (a 1200.00 load) (plus the repair man coming out and a new airbag was approximately 391.00) We are still waiting to find out what the repair cost was for the damage caused to the building.
The shop was notified and after a couple weeks we were offered a 400.00 in shop credit (we paid 7175.97 total in repairs to J & M) We no longer felt the trailer was safe and have since parked it and purchased a new trailer.

Refund We feel that they should refund the cost of the work they performed which was 3075.00
Unit was a 1994 Utility trailer,came to J&M originally for replacement of front hangers.
We also found that the front swing arms were rotted where bushing sits. Contacted customer who OK replacement. Cross Ties at front and rear hangers were rotted(replaced). Left rear Scam Bushings were replaced due to excessive play. Replaced a faulty service valve. Customer also had tire replaced/New valve stem. These repairs had nothing to do with weld repair. These repairs labor and parts totaled $6,171.05 without tax.
The repair for weld that customer claims did not hold was $544.49 and includes the price of the hanger.
Customer did not notify J&M of any repairs that another vendor had to make in regards to our repairs, as we fully warranty our own work.
In regards to our repair weld , we were notified by customer that the customer hit a building . Customer stated found weld broke. Customer feels that weld broken causing driver to hit a building.Customer stated was getting someone to repair weld. Informed customer to bring unit back to J&M. Customer had unit repaired at another facility, then brought it back to J&M. We were unable to ascertain if our weld was cause of accident, as unit had been repaired by another facility. Informed customer, as a good faith gesture, we would issue an in house credit for $400.00, since we could not determine if driver hit building, which then caused weld to break, since it had been re-welded by another facility, before we could inspect weld. I am attaching the picture we took after our repair was completed.
