We had rented in the past from Courtesy Car Rental before about years ago, and had a great experience During that time, we rented a Passenger van and drove it from MN down to Florida and back No complaints, very good experience renting and returningThe Bad experience!! Let me preface, I know and understand that Courtesy charges for additional miles, (not unlimited) I could have easily gone to another national chain for the same price and got a van for cheaper or the same rate, but because of the experience we had on our Florida trip, we wanted to stay localWe rented a passenger Chevy Van to go on a trip to Chicago, about a + mile trip total The pick up was great, got the car, no high pressure sales tactics to get you buy additional insurance However, the drive to and from was the worst experience I have ever had in a passenger van We had people in the van and everyone of us felt the impact of every single bump in the road If you sat in the back, (last row) you at time would be lifted out of your seat This was with driving conditions, speed limit speeds with NO constructions on the road The van felt like it was driving on a dirt road almost all the way down and back from Chicago On top of the bumpy ride, the alignment was off for steering, making it an unsteady navigation experience hours of sitting in a very rough and bumpy ride is not what we wanted to experienceWhen we got back, I called and left Courtesy a message detailing the experience I did asked to be compensated in my messageI got a call back, from Courtesy and instead of apologizing for the bad experience and asking in more details about what happened, I got a combative, and argumentative person essentially calling me out as a liar At least thats how I felt Right off the bat, he told me that he called the previous two renters of the exact same passenger van, and asked for their experience Without details, he told me the past two renters did not have same experience we did, in fact it was quite the opposite He also went on to say, the Van was BRAND NEW ( with 15,miles) and had no issues He himself took the Van on a test drive without ANY issues At this pointwhat could I say in return??? I just reiterated to him, and explained to him that this is what WE experienced, and he can either believe me or not He than asked me what I wanted I explained to him, I am not the type to call and complain, just to get $$, I even told him we had done business with Courtesy before without any issues in fact we received great service I also prefaced that I could have easily gone to another company for rentals at a lower rate! I further went on to say that I would like some compensation for the terrible van ride At no point did I ask for any kind of refund He just went back to his thing about the previous two renters and also how this was a NEW the van was and how TON Passenger Vans like this one would have bumpy ride and would not be like a Mini Van At this point I was tired of arguingLong conversation short, I know its not wroth it to argue with people who don't careI gave him an ultimatum, either you give me some kind of compensation or I will give him ( Courtesy) a bad review, thats it When I said that, he basically said that I "put a gun to his head" and gave me Free day off my next rental My response was that I did NOT want a free day, especially after he essentially called me liar It was now minutes into our conversation, and he finally apologized for the bad experience He asked me, if thats not what I want then he doesn't know what to do My response, after hoping he would be the one that offered something reasonable was that, I would like the extra miles taken off the bill (about $85) and if he wasn't willing to do that, we can end the conversation He apologized that he wasn't able to help and we ended the callSooooo if you want to be called a liar, and do not want to be felt appreciated by local renters, call up Courtesy Car Rental

Terrible If I could give negative stars I would! I dropped the van off after hours as agreed upon in the daylight on a tuedayNo damage at all next morning the manager calls freaking out that I damaged the van I have witnesses that never observed any damage while in my posesssion they were trying to get me to sign off on the damage that I didnt do and so I told my insurance company to deal with it My insurance paid a claim but then charged my credit card for "loss of use" without first notifying me Shady operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a complete nightmare

I dropped the van off after hours as agreed upon in the daylight on a tuedayNo damage at all
next morning the manager calls freaking out that I damaged the van
I have witnesses that never observed any damage while in my posesssion
they were trying to get me to sign off on the damage that I didnt do and so I told my insurance company to deal with it
My insurance paid a claim but then charged my credit card for "loss of use" without first notifying me
Shady operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a complete nightmare

At the recommendation of my regular mechanic, Certified Auto & LIght Truck in South StPaul, I took my Saab 9-to Johnson Autobody down the street from these guys and they were unable to diagnose a front left suspension issue that had been caused by an unfortunate interaction with a cavernous potholeSo, Dave Johnson calls me up and says he could take it over to his buddy's place (Courtesy Car) down the road because they are more familiar with this kind of issue, so I told him to please do soA few days later I get a call letting me know that they found out it was the strut (leaking) and the top strut mount (cracked in 2) that needed to be replacedTo my surprise, the parts and labor only came to $250, which I thought was a bargainfast forward about a monthThe problem area continued to make some knocking noises and I took it back for them to check it outThey took a look at said it was just a tiny bit loose by the lower control arm and that may be causing the noise but that the couple mms of play would not cause any safety or performance issues until years down the road, if at allI was relieved at the time, thinking, oh well, the pothole sure did a number on my suspension, causing the bushing on the control arm to be a tiny bit looseno big dealfast forward more monthsTime to have Certified Auto do an oil change and mount my winter tiresBy now I have noticed the noise from the strut seems to be getting noticeably worse, so I ask my mechanic to take a look whilst he's got it on the hoistTurns out, as he tells me, the strut is shot and the mount is also likely shot due to how much play there is when he moves the wheel aroundI look up my Courtesy invoice for the original work and see I am well within the 1yr/12,mile parts/labor warrantySo, I call up Courtesyno answer, call disconnectsI Google them"Permanently Closed"I call up Johnson Autobody and talk to Dave who informs me that Courtesy went bankruptThe reason this is one star is that now I'll end up paying my regular mechanic to do the same work all over again and the Courtesy folks didn't put the part number on the invoice so I have no way of claiming the warranty on the parts, which would save me around $150, and no way of contacting Courtesy or anyone responsible for their business dealingsDave Johnson mentioned the manager is now out in Washington working for Boeing, so I'm SOL at this pointI can't help but wonder why they went out of business, reading the negative reviews here and elsewhere

I reserved a van for travel to Florida for the month of September however my vacation was canceled from my vacation home company due to hurricane IrmaI put a $deposit down for my trip with no intentions on canceling my reservation however a natural disaster ism out of human controlI would like my deposit back
