Complaint Information:
We received a call from customer on March 18, stating her kitchen sink was clogged due to our work back on January 24, We agreed to come over and take a look at no charge to make sure it was unrelated to our workOwner cancelled our appointment and called anther company to snake the line because she did not want to wait for usWe are not responsible for what people put down their drainsFor someone to call us two months after we did our work and say our work caused their sink to clog is in our opinion a little outrageousWe were called a second time after owner had another company clear clog and were told of a leak under the kitchen sink and it was again blamed on usAt this point another company was just out to clear a clog for same sinkThere was no mention of a leak during our first conversation on March 18, As is standard in industry we warranty repair work for thirty days and new work for one yearWe feel if something is done wrong it would show up within thirty dayWe have always stood behind our work 100% when we make a mistakeWe feel bad that she has leaks, but we cannot be blamed for leaks that are not our fault

Review: Prior to making the appointment, I was quoted by the owner, [redacted], that it was approximately $50 for the part, $125 for the first half hour of labor and $60 for each additional 1/2 hour. [redacted] a plumber employed by Mulvaney, came to our home to fix the problem, installed the part and was finish in approximately 15 minutes. When he gave the invoice/bill it was for $235. [redacted] charged for the additional 1/2 that he did not work. When this was reported to the company they were unresponsive and did not remedy the situation.

I would like to be refunded the $60 that I was erroneously charged.

We received a call from Mrs. [redacted] about replacing a broken plastic popup assembly with a new brass popup assembly for her sink. We installed the identical part on 5/7/12 while installing a vanity at their home. However, we did charge $1.25 more for the part 14 months later due to cost increase, but it basically was the same cost. I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that as our first visit to her house we charge $125.00 for the first half hour and $60.00 for any part of each additional half hour. According to our GPS we arrived at her house 7/11/13 at 1:46pm and left her house at 2:36pm(49 minutes) charging her $185.00 labor per explanation. This does not seem like an unreasonable amount of time to properly install and test a popup assembly on anybody's sink. I feel we are being unjustly accussed of cheating a customer of time charged. Not only do we stand behind it, but always make sure we have purchased and updated GPS in all our service trucks to avoid such situations. Unfortunately the [redacted]'s did not care to hear about a GPS system and insisted we were only at there house for fifteen minutes. We are truly sorry they feel we are not justified in our charges and they will be charged $0.00 for parts and labor and no check will be cashed by our company for any part of this work. This is not to say that we are guilty of anything, but to show the type of company that we do run and we do stand behind everything. Unfortunately there is no way for us to avoid such occurrences even with all the attempts we have made and it is clear that you cannot keep all customers happy. Having been in business for over 25 years I find it remarkable how the general public perceives the value of tradesmen and their work. We wish the [redacted]'s much luck in the future with another plumber. Sincerely, [redacted]
