[We do not wish to have an argument with the business online, we will save that for court. The work, took over year to get to the current sub standard statusWe agree that there were change orders, but this is part and parcel of a remodelling contract, and would expect a company of this size to be able to handle thisThe real issue is communication, where things were agreed on site by the project manager, but this information was not passed to the office, or the workers on site. We were served with 2 separate stop work orders as the correct permits were not pulled, one by the city of ***, and the other by the historical society for the workJ Murray and Sons also failed to turn up (with no notice) to the requested Historic Society hearing to obtain approval for the work to proceed, leaving us to attend alone. The final balance was paid by a minor shareholder in the condo property under pressure from the J Murray and Sons, and without the approval of the other unitsThe gutter work was not inspected at this time as was on the roof. J Murray and Sons are not currently licensed in the State, and the city have told us that they are not registered with the city either, as detailed in the attachmentThis means that we will have to go to court, instead of the state funded arbitration proceedings. ]

We have had a great deal of turnover in our office and I was under the impression that this project had been fully complete. Can you please send a punch list by e-mail listing the items left to...

1. The project was scheduled once deposit was paid. Sometimes due to demand our projects take up to 2 months to start. We are up front with this from the initial estimate.2. Proper historical and building permits were filed for and approved on this project. These can be looked up through the city of...
[redacted] with the address of the project and our company name (J Murray & Sons LLC)3. The project increased in scope due to the clients requesting changes to materials and adding to the project. The scope of the project grew from a deck project to us completing exterior siding trim, window trim, gutters, paint, structural wall framing modifications, siding changes, etc. All of this was documented, approved by the clients, and paid. I attached as many documents and changes in this respond as possible (there are an additional 5 more scope changes as well that could not be attached due to size).4. The clients had a final walk-through done and an agreement was made on the balance which was paid. All issues that they raise above about the yard being damaged and work not being done how they want it was not mentioned. If there were so many issues why was the balance paid and the project complete?5. Our company is licensed and insured in Massachusetts as necessary. We would be unable to acquire building permits, building inspector sign-offs, historical permits, etc. if we were not. Anyone can check this by calling the city of [redacted], or any other that we have worked in and filed permits for. We currently have over 1 million dollars in active projects throughout the greater [redacted] area all with the required permitting.
