JPM Heating & Air is a fully licensed, insured and bonded company The technician who serviced the property in question was indeed EPA certified and has over years experience Upon inspection on 7/the 30+ year old unit was found in very poor conditionMr*** was
informed that any repairs made would not be guaranteed because the system was in such despair Mr*** insisted that the system could be repaired and *** was willing to work with him So *** agreed to send a service technician to preform a leak test on the system, prior to making any repairs 7/Upon leak test the technician found a leak in the 3/refrigerant lines leading to the condensing unit Upon request of Mr*** the leak was cut out and repaired The technician then preformed another pressure test which held at psi for minsThen conducted a second vacuum test which held at microns for mins All the while Mr*** oversaw and observed the test results as the technician preformed themAt this time Mr*** was informed again that a unit in poor condition and under pressure may possibly have another stress crack in the copper refrigerant linesMr*** insisted and acknowledged the repairs made, we then moved forward and charge the system with 10lbs of R This was against our professional and industry knowledgeable recommendation The refrigerant was added to the system along with a compressor contactor and checked for proper operationWe strongly recommended a leak sealant be added to the system to protect against future leaks which Mr*** refused.Upon return visit on 9/system was found low on Rrefrigerant*** informed Mr*** that due to EPA regulations and the condition of the system we could not keep adding refrigerant to a system that *** believed would keep developing NEW leaks due to the corroded copper coils At this time Mr*** simply walked away and didn't want to discuss any other alternatives *** approached Mr*** and asked him one last time what he would like us to do Mr*** simply stated he believed it could be repaired and would call someone else to make the repairs Mr*** walked into his house*** then gathered his tools and left the property Shortly after we received a notice to appear in small claims court Our office quickly and respectfully sent documentation on file (completed work orders and invoices) to Mr*** and followed it up with a phone call Mr*** quickly stated he did not want to talk and would only settle for a full refund plus court fees He stated he wants to have the courts handle the ***er We thanked him for his time and agreed We believe we treated him more than fair and as a company have never had this type of customer conflict in our years of businessWe hope to resolve the ***er in small claims court this coming February
