Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
In response to [redacted]:
Aug[redacted] called me to state the policy would be
changing as the agent recently discovered history on my driving record after
running my informationAs I was in school I had to call back
(This was a Thursday, I am in school from 8-all day long )
Aug[redacted] changed my policy without authorization or
approval or that they were going to be doing it on this day and so soon(This
is a Friday)
Aug [redacted] charged me for my original policy fee of
$(This is a Tuesday- I am in school from 8-all day long)
Aug[redacted] Charged me for the revised policy fee of
$376.45 A 474.48% increase(This was a
Thursday, I am in school from 8-all day long )
Had [redacted] done their homework properly and taken
the information that was given to them (both the main driver and vehicle
owner's information was given in fullAt no time was there a request from the
provider for a background or history on either driver or owner) there would
have been no need for an unexpected and abrupt policy change as an accurate
portrayal of the policy fees would have been able to be considered feasible or
not according to the insured's budget. That
is, after all, the entire reason for calling for a quote
It is the [redacted] company's responsibility to consider and
account for all persons involved with the vehicle ownership and driving and
provide an accurate quote based on that informationFact of the matter is is
that [redacted] did not give an accurate quote because they failed to
complete the background history on the mis-guided insured
Additionally, [redacted] gave the policy holder day
to respond to the change before an un-authorized change occurred and within business
days the poicy holder's account was charged twice- once for the original
policy, and once again for the revisedHow clever of these policy writers
Lastly, to change a rate by 474.48% is an absurd and
outrageous business tactic and any business with a values system would not operate
in such a crude and unjust manner
[redacted] claims they returned the unused portion of
the policy to my accountAs far as I am concerned, they failed to provide me
with an accurate policy and therefore have no right to charge me for something
that I had never agreed uponImagine if this same tactic was used between
nations and countries
we would have total mistrust and chaosIt is a
business' job to do right by the customer as customers put faith and trust in businesses,
especially local ones
If anything, this was all a misunderstanding that was in
need of renovating and renegotiating of the new policyInstead, an expedited
change led to the customer's misfortuneI know the agent was well meaning, as
was [redacted] as a whole, it just turned out that this missed detail for
the policy writing was a big deal and quite costly to the customerBut it
costs the business nothing to set right what was wronged; only to return what
was not theirs to takeI urge them to
do the right thingBe ponoMake this right.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
