Contractor hired for tape/mud for media room. Only worked on job 5 hrs. One sloppy first coat of mud. Contractor will not return calls/voicemails.I hired this contractor to perform a tape and mud for paint job on my media room. I gave them half down for the job $400 for a $800 job. They came in the first day and put the tape and first coat of mud on. The first coat was extremely sloppy and they only worked about 5 hrs total on the job. I never heard from them again and they haven't answered my calls or returned my voicemails since. I hired this contractor through Home Advisor website and I am currently working with them as well to try to resolve this matter. Contractor has not returned any of thier calls or voicemails either.Desired SettlementI gave the contractor $400 or half of the job cost, and I only got an initial tape and mud. This is considered the easiest part of the job. The hardest part is the the second coat of mud and the sanding. For this, I feel I should get $300 of the $400 back. Due to budget constraints, I was forced to finish the job myself. I have pictures of before/after and the contract that was signed.

Poor workmanship and communication.J and R Custom Painting Contracted to paint my home in November of 2015. After contact was signed and partial payment of $950 dollars was made Mr [redacted] went missing for 2 weeks with no communication. Three deadlines were missed and the work was not professional.Desired SettlementI am seeking half the payment of $950 dollars. Two contractors have reviewed the work and agree that $950 dollars of work has not been performed or work performed is not good.
