Contracted to do work at our Camp.
from J. Rich Builder was hired on November 15, 2019 to Build a Deck, front Porch and stairs going from the Cabin to the Street. He started Building the Deck, Porch, and Stairs and after being paid in full, he started giving us excuses as to why he couldn't be there to finish! as of today 1-7-2020, Deck, Porch incomplete, Stairs never even started! He did this same thing to another Customer as stated on Revdex.com back in July 2019! We ALL need to stop this guy from hurting anyone else and see to it he goes out of Business ASAP!
was hired for a three day job to rebuild our deck. He spent several months working on the deck off and on. We were given several excuses as to why several months later the deck still was not complete and the work that was completed was unacceptable. He was hired in July 2018 and gave us excuses until snow fall as to why he was unable to complete the work. In May 2019, we contacted him saying that we needed the deck completed as soon as possible. After several weeks he came out to re-evaluate the previous work that had fallen apart over the winter. We told him we wanted the work completed by the end of May and he ensured us that this would not be a problem. However, by the end of May, the work is still not complete or been attempted to be reconciled. We have since requested our money back to hire someone else that could finish the job. He again ensured us he would get the money to us. Several weeks later we still had received nothing. We contacted him again and he once again ensured us we would have the money. It has now been over a month and a half since The request and we have been ignored by this individual. We have had two other reputable contractors estimate the job. They state his work would have to be completely redone since the work completed was by an “unskilled carpenter.” I am sure we are not the first, nor the last customers J.Rich Builder have/will take advantage of until this is addressed. Thank you.
First of all I will start off by saying I was not paid to rebuild a deck all we did was jack the deck up and pour concrete and put new post in and new decking. The deck is a 10’x52’ so material alone would have been $5,000 or more because they wanted trek decking. I also ran into problems with material not showing up or later than I was told. Just got the problem fixed this month by telling the company I’ll take my business somewhere else. I did tell them 3 days but the trek decking took 2.5 weeks to get there so I went to different jobs to work and ran into problems. I did talk to her husband in November he told me it was to cold to work outside there and I have text messages to prove it and in April he told me no. Back in November I was building a 60x60 garage in the cold. For unskilled that’s crazy because I work with 4 different contractors and the guy that got done working for me is now a project manager at one of the biggest contractors in ***. And for taking advantage of people that’s not true I have repeat customers that I do everything for and I work with some people that don’t have a lot of money but need things fixed so I’ll help them out by doing payments I could go all day defending my company or other people’s company’s from people like this I have texts from them saying they will go on every site just trash my business unless I pay but I have been advised to not pay I feel bad about this whole thing now I wish I never took this job because I didn’t make anything on it after paying someone to work and with the material being so much

We appreciate the time you have taken to respond to our request. However, I think that we can both agree that the job that was agreed upon was not completed and what was completed was not done to professional standards. The stairs to the deck were not completed, the poles of the deck were not completed, the decking was not completely fastened down and moves as you walk across it, and the cuts and spacing of the decking was not appropriate.Most of our conversations about the job were via text or ***. After reviewing the text messages, we have attached the summary. More documents can be provided if needed but it is difficult to document via screen shots and get the dates of all communication. As you can see there has been lots of communication with empty promises or lengthy excuses. As the owner of a company I would hope that even if *** does not agree with the amount that we are requesting, that he would want to save the image of his company and negotiate what he views as a reasonable amount. As a consumer we do have the right to review the work and company via social media or other avenues in order to protect others from being deceived by J. Rich Builders but if resolved reasonably we will not post these honest but negative reviews the company.After over a year, we are ready to be done with this. However, we do not think that how *** has treated us or dealt with this situation is professional. I do not think that arguing back and fourth is going to get us any further ahead but rather come to an amicable compromise. We look forward to a compromise with an actual payment follow through.
