September 9, 2015I received correspondence dated August 31, stating there had been a complaint filed against my companyI would like to first address the delayed response as the initial complaint was sent to the incorrect e-mail and mailing addressPlease update your records to reflect the appropriate information as reflected above.Secondly, to address the complaint filedThe customer in question, whom shall be left nameless, brought in a [redacted] stating he had a transmission leakThe leak was found by J-Rodg Automotive and fixedThe customer was charged $for this repairI received a call the following business day from the customer stating the car was leaking transmission fluid and was "blowing out" but he was an hour away on the PATurnpikeThe customer asked if he could bring the vehicle back later that day or tomorrow morningJ-Rodg Automotive strongly advised the customer to not drive the vehicle from his current location/distance but was welcome to bring it backWhen the vehicle was returned it was leaking again and burnt fluid was noticed by J-Rodg AutomotiveAt this point the transmission pan was removed and melted solenoids and debris were found in the panI spoke with the customer and informed him of the damages inside caused by driving the vehicle such a far distance instead of having it towed with low fluid levelsAt that time J-Rodg Automotive replaced the solenoids, the filter and fluidThere was then a road test done that revealed additional damage, again caused by the neglect of the customer, so the customer was contacted and informed that the vehicle could be picked up for no additional charge, despite J-Rodg Automotive having replaced the solenoids filter and fluid.Customer was referred to see a transmission shopThe transmission leak reoccurrence could have been easily resolved had the vehicle not been driven back to the shop at such an ill-advised distanceThe customer chose to drive the vehicle after being advised not to with a fluid leak which caused the extensive damage to the transmission. In closing, it is not the responsibility of J-Rodg Automotive to be responsible for a customer's personal neglect and blatant disregard for clearly given instructionsIf there is any additional clarification you require please don't hesitate to contact me.Sincerely, James ROwner/Operator

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I would like them to prove that the vehicle was driven and that there was "burnt" transmission fluid which was caused by me driving it back homeIt was never driven homeIf the car is overheating it can't be driven.

September 9, 2015I received correspondence dated August 31, 2015 stating there had been a complaint filed against my company. I would like to first address the delayed response as the initial complaint was sent to the incorrect e-mail and mailing address. Please update your records...

to reflect the appropriate information as reflected above.Secondly, to address the complaint filed. The customer in question, whom shall be left nameless, brought in a 2002 [redacted] stating he had a transmission leak. The leak was found by J-Rodg Automotive and fixed. The customer was charged $90.00 for this repair. I received a call the following business day from the customer stating the car was leaking transmission fluid and was "blowing out" but he was an hour away on the PATurnpike. The customer asked if he could bring the vehicle back later that day or tomorrow morning. J-Rodg Automotive strongly advised the customer to not drive the vehicle from his current location/distance but was welcome to bring it back.
When the vehicle was returned it was leaking again and burnt fluid was noticed by J-Rodg Automotive. At this point the transmission pan was removed and melted solenoids and debris were found in the pan. I spoke with the customer and informed him of the damages inside caused by driving the vehicle such a far distance instead of having it towed with low fluid levels. At that time J-Rodg Automotive replaced the solenoids, the filter and fluid. There was then a road test done that revealed additional damage, again caused by the neglect of the customer, so the customer was contacted and informed that the vehicle could be picked up for no additional charge, despite J-Rodg Automotive having replaced the solenoids filter and fluid.Customer was referred to see a transmission shop.
The transmission leak reoccurrence could have been easily resolved had the vehicle not been driven back to the shop at such an ill-advised distance. The customer chose to drive the vehicle after being advised not to with a fluid leak which caused the extensive damage to the transmission. In closing, it is not the responsibility of J-Rodg Automotive to be responsible for a customer's personal neglect and blatant disregard for clearly given instructions.
If there is any additional clarification you require please don't hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,
James R.
