I am the owner of J&S paving here in Oswego, NY. I've been paving locally for 26 years, and have installed over 2,000 driveways. I do not advertise my business because of my excellent reputation. The customer at [redacted] contacted me about a  driveway install. He asked if I would trade...

a driveway base & binder for a 2004 Polaris 250 cc 4 wheeler. I looked at the bike and decided I would trade. He valued it at $2400.00 same as a based out driveway of limestone & 2.5" of fine binder. I explained the difference between binder & finish top and that each course was $2 a sq. ft. he stated he understood as he had done paving in the past. There was no mention of a top. My crew boxed out the existing driveway with a bobcat, the base was nice and hard. We installed fine limestone as needed, hand raked and compacted with a 1.5 - 3.0 ton vibertory roller. We installed 2.5" of fine binder raked and compacted well. Rolled 3-4 times as it cooled. We had tamped the edges to a 45 deg angle for strength. We finished the driveway and the customer was delighted, he even drove the 4 wheeler on our trailer. The dump truck holds 7 tons of blacktop, it was enough to pave the whole driveway. The customer stated, if there was enough left over when we finished he'd like it wider at the end. We didn't have any extra blacktop, but did offer to go purchase more if he wanted to pay a little extra, like $200, he didn't want to, he said it was fine. I told him that we work in Fulton a lot and could possibly stop at a later date and install some left over blacktop to his apron to make it wider, he said that would be great and we left the job. It was a few days later that he texted me to say the job was sloppy and bumpy and that I should put a top on it. I'm not sure what his problem is, but I did explain that there was no top to put unless he could pay for it. His driveway of limestone & binder is straight and smooth as a binder driveway gets, it looks fine & was happy when we finished. The customer is lying about any top. My crew worked very hard & his driveway was fine when we left. My crew will sign this letter as I will as our statement of truth.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
He said that my driveway was to be two cars wide at the apron and it isn't.  My boyfriend has never done a driveway before don't know where he got that from.  He isn't telling the whole story.  He wouldn't know what happened when they were doing my driveway because he wasn't here.  He left and came back once and to drop off a guy that was babysitting his kids.  There were only two guys here most of the time and they were here for four hours total and half that time they didn't even work because they were waiting on the truck for stone and binder.  So I don't know what he is talking about even the guy that was here said that it was to be wider.  I have called two other paving company and they said for that price they should have made it wider and put a top on it.  The stones are coming loose and it is uneven.  There is only an inch of binder from the sidewalk to the road not 2.5"  He's crew did a crappy job.  Only one guy even worked well he was here.  Tell me how that is right?  I am not paying for the guy who was babysitting his kids.  He was trying to get one over on us because we didn't know anything about driveways and I guess he did.  He needs to fix this problem or I will put a letter out to the news and news papers about his crappy work.  I also have a camera on the outside of my house and it recorded everything the guy said well he was here.
Regards,[redacted]
