[redacted],  I recieved in the mail today a complaint from [redacted] regarding his missing vent.  I was contracted to install a new roof on the building with the demolition of the existing roof to be contracted by others. The bathroom vent and pipe going to the roof were either missing prier...

to my involvement or were removed when [redacted] demo'd the old roof.At the time he was notifed of the problem.  He was also notifed that this is not a warrinty item as it was a pre existing item.Because I had no ivolvment with the bathroom fan or the missing pipe connecting it to the roof it is not my responsibility or liability to replace it.The roof is installed in good condition and the roof vent is installed properly and is ready for a new connection to be installed.  However, I am not the responsible party on this item.  Thanks,       Jack

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted] The roofing company has misunderstood my problem.  The bathroom fan and piping did exist, but that is not what my complaint is about.  J Schwartz Construction removed old plywood sheathing where this bathroom vent fan exhausted through the roof.  They installed new 4x8 OSB sheathing and cut a hole in the sheathing where the attic vent piping was.  When they rolled the tar paper over this hole, they forgot to cut a hole in the tar paper and also forgot to re-install the roof vent that was there previously.  I did not discover this problem until I was replacing the bathroom fan and venting through the attic. At that time I discovered that the ductwork through the attic led to a hole in the new sheathing that was covered by tar paper and shingles.  Both units of the duplex are identical. The roof vent for the bathroom in the other unit was re-installed.  This one was missed probably because the roof vent was attached to the old sheathing and it was not near the hole that it was supposed to cover when they rolled the tar paper. Since the time of the initial complaint, I have corrected the problem at my own expense. At this point I would be satisfied with the assurance that the company would respond to future contact and continue to honor the remaining nine years left on the roof warranty the company gave us.
