Thank you for letting us know that a complaint was submitted against JSmith Lanier & CoWe [appreciate the efforts of the Revdex.com and the opportunity to explain the situation from our point of viewBelow please find the details surrounding this situation
The Policy Renewal Date was 10/27/No payment was received, so a Notice of Cancellation was mailed with an effective date of 11/27/if payment was not madeOn 10/31/13, the insured called the agent and requested the policy be "re-written" because she no longer had many of the vehiclesBecause the policy was in cancellation status, the agent advised the insured that she would need to bring the account current and then the changes could be made to her policyWe cannot make changes .to a policy in cancellation statusPayment was made and a reinstatement of coverage notification was sent to the insured
On 11/14/13, the insured called the carrier (Foremost) and requested to delete coverage for vehicles and driversShe was informed that she would need to send approval in writing to make the changesThe document the insured submitted simply stated approve the changes” but did not include the changes she wanted to make (the deletion of the vehicles and drivers)The carrier received the complete information from the insured on 2/28/Because of the delay in receiving the information,the deletion requests had to be re-entered into the carrier system and processed through underwritingThe carrier processed the changes (retroactive to 11/14/13) and mailed the insured a copy of the endorsement to the policy (the document she refers to in her complaint as "a new policy”)
She did receive another Notice of Cancellation on 3/1/14, but because the changes to her policy resulted in a premium reduction, the credit of $6,was applied to the insured’s account; thus canceling that Notice of CancellationHer current balance is $2,and her next payment of $is due on 4/27/Her policy is currently in force, and there has been no lapse of coverage since inception
