The deal from J Stanley Paving and myself was a handshake deal to rectify a problem due his work settling. The road has been here for ages and hasn't moved. My original contract which I have a copy was to move the water from my driveway as it flows down the road. This problem was alleviated for a year until the driveway began to sink. As this is besides the point. The handshake deal was to cut and feather a cap that wouldn't be very noticeable and would go unaffected from a plow. Asphalt was thrown on my driveway and rolled. As far as cost of materials and hose. The paving company was doing a driveway next to mine the same size as my driveway, two cars wide and two cars deep. J T Stanley had two crews, two sets of equipment and a dump truck full of asphalt, the little bit to do my driveway as agreed wouldn't have put a dent in his overhead. The owner of this company and his crew of 5 guys, came to my house used things without asking, didn't shut nor put them away when they were done using them, which is when the damage was caused then proceeded to watch for 45 minutes as the water blew out of my hose on to his work. Then proceeded to strong arm and curse out this home owner because I approached him about not putting a hose a way and shutting of water, he had no business in touching the first place. That's not way people do business. There were small children around at the time of Mr. Stanley's rant not to mention the unprofessionalism of him and his hired help. Its not the cost of my thirty five dollar hose its the total blatant disrespect that this company showed both home owners he was doing work for. Never in my life have I had to call law enforcement when I myself work in the business because of the threatening verbal nonsense that was displayed by all the members of this company. If a hose only costs twenty dollars then I suggest this company goes and buys a water tanker and a bunch of hoses. Now I'm out a hose and I have a half as cap on my driveway.
