Mr *** originally contracted me to tear down his existing brick retaining wall and rebuild the wall with a segmental block retaining wall system. He sent me a deposit for $on November 12th. The segmental block wall can be built anytime of the year. On November 29th he
contacted me and told me he had the existing brick wall inspected and the inspector told him to that he did not need to replace the wall and all he needed to do was patch the wall with mortar. In that same email Mr*** asked me to do the patch work as well as extend the wall approximately feet to touch his existing sidewalk. I also informed him that if the wall was already cracked that the wall will continue to crack over time. Mr *** contacted in December and I told him that I did not want to do the patch work when it was too cold because that was not the best time to do work with mortar or concrete. Since then he has contacted me a two to three times asking me when I was going to be there to do the work and each time I told him that I had him on the schedule and that I would be working him in. He never asked me for a refund and never gave me an exact date that he needed the work to be completed by. I have been on three very large (over $100K) projects in a row that have lasted since the time that I received the deposit from Mr ***. I had absolutely no intention of not doing the work for Mr***. I work for high end customers all over Forsyth County and the Triad and my reputation is everything to me and I have EXCELLENT references. I have never taken a deposit from anyone that did not get the work completed to their complete satisfaction. I contacted Mr*** today and we had a conversation about the magnitude of him reporting me to the Revdex.com and that I would be issuing him a refund tomorrow 2-16-for the full $850. He was satisfied with that and told me he would be removing his complaint. When you work outside for a living, scheduling is the hardest part
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Revdex.com:I have read Mr. Bowmans response and there was never an inspector that checked the wall. I am a construction inspector for civil engineering projects, not a masonry expert, and not sure where he got that information twisted
I deal with jobs in the millions and deadlines with liquidated damages which has nothing to do with this retaining wall job. I respect Mr. Bowmans business reputation and he was told that the house was going up for sale and getting it done was important to me and that type of work can be done when temporary tents are constructed.When I receive the check, I will call the Revdex.com of Winston-Salem.
