I just signed up for a "MetroFax" one-month free trial and gave my credit card information to the operator which was billed for $to test my credit card After my credit card was validated, I was given a fax number and my fax account was activated I was then given instructions by the operator that I could now send or receive up to faxes/month during the one month trial for free After days, my card would be charged $per month until cancellation
During the first hour of getting my fax number and instructions for sending faxes, I attempted to send batches of 20-faxes of numbers to potential clients with established fax numbers None of these faxes went through to my potential business clients After testing just over phone numbers and getting all of these faxes rejected by the "Metrofax.com" system, I called the Metrofax customer service department and was told that my account had been "suspended" (just one hour after I started my one month free trial) due to "high activity" The customer service representative gave me instructions to email my a photocopy of my credit card (with most of the account numbers blacked out) to the Metrofax finance department and was told that my account would be reopened as soon as their office could see an image of both sides of my credit card This seems like a very strange request, since my credit card has already been electronically validated and I was not coming anywhere close to exceeding the fax limit I was given for the trial period
I called the Metrofax customer service department to see if they can tell me if my account will be reopened and the new representative told me that my account was now "closed" and could not give me any explanation Also, I was told that I would not be allowed to enter a new trial period but was given no reason for this
Is this outfit running a scam??

I got this service when another company went out of business and going out of businessOne Box took over their customers They raised the price slightly on what I was paying but still gave me a rate much lower than the industry standard After working out several issues the numbers worked for several years However at intervals they would add some new elements to their voice mail and add that feature without telling me and I accumulated new charges without warning One case is when they began transcribing voice mail into text and did not even give me the option to opt out I had to call them several times to have it removed and I received no refund for the extra charges The numbers worked again for a long time until I began to experience static on the line Soon after the service stopped working all together (no voice mail) Countless calls to customer service After porting the numbers over to a live line I was charged for extra fee's because of incoming minutes More calls to customer service continued trying to resolve this They finally got the service working again but continued static on the outgoing messages and incoming calls After the service was fixed automatic recording no longer worked if someone didn't begin speaking fast enough the call was cut off Than I started getting COUNTLESS calls from all over the country from people not leaving any message (all hang ups) I cancelled one of my numbers and kept the other one and the phantom calls have never stopped All those years I never had any such thing happen Just trying to wade through them to get to my real calls was frustrating Their Voice Mail service simply doesn't work properly anymore and I hope if they read this they will get it fixed and working the way it used to Than I would consider using them again!

On top of the service not working consistently, the phone app not being compatible with their website, the customer service number is a long distance number based in India. Extremely difficult to get anyone to listen to what you are trying to say. All the reps that I spoke with were busy talking over me to try and either sell me something I already told them no on, or just talking about nothing. I was hung up on 2 twice for requesting to speak to a supervisor after requesting my account be canceled. I spoke with 4 reps today before finally canceling my account. The initial request was that the payment date be moved to the original payment date agreed on the 10th instead of the 8th, they refused to fix their issue and charged late fees every month, I get paid on the 10 which is why I set it up that way. Even after I canceled they continued to charge my card. I had to cancel my card and dispute with Visa in order to get the payments to stop and my money back. HUGE SCAM!

[redacted] company. avoid at all costs. Silently will charge your credit card until you realize they haven't processed your refund.

I gave the 30 day free trial a try.. I did not receive a couple of faxes so I decided to cancel the service. I followed the links/instructions on the MyFAx site and sent an email to cancel my trial. as per their site.. A week later I received an email back telling me I had to call to cancel. I think this is bad business!

Do not trust this service!
