Just received this today 2/9/17, as it was in out spam folderThis complaint unfortunately was filed before the work was even completedCustomer did get a brand new alternator for the price of the economy reman unit that he was originally quotedWhen he picked up his car I had a conversation with him which afterwards, we shook hands and agreed service expectation had been met and all was okToday I received a phone call from Mr [redacted] regarding another matter with his car, and I mentioned this complaint to himWell, he stated that he knows nothing about it????? Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
I was never brought out to the shop area and they never offered to replace the damaged stud. We did all our business at the front counter
where I was told about the lug nut being sheared off. I was offered a battery and air filter replacement for much more then I could afford.
I agree that the lug nut shearing off was not Midas's fault but was quite upset they did not offer to repair to keep my wife and I out of harms
way. If they would have offered to replace broken lug nut I would have had the work performed just for the safety aspect. And are there any
Midas's in this area that use conventional oil that would honor that coupon and if not why wouldn't you honor the $19.99 price or just change
the way the coupon is worded?Sincerely,[redacted]

[redacted] handed me  the  $19.99 Midas Conventional Oil Change coupon at the time I service wrote his request; which is  done prior to performing  any service or repair. I told [redacted] we don't sell Conventional Oil at this Midas, but  we do offer the...

$10.00 Off on Premium upgrade oil  for Synthetic Blend at only $24.99; $5.00 more than the $19.99 coupon. See attached Midas coupon for details. There's also a $3.00 oil & oil filter disposal fee plus  sales  tax as stated on the coupon. He  approved, signed our service order & we proceeded with the service.
"Note 11- When a wheel stud breaks coming off; that's Not that techs fault thats removing the wheel lug nut. That lug nut was installed incorrectly by whoever serviced the vehicle last. Wheel suds installed correctly will come of easy when removing them.
When our tech went to rotate the wheels & tires, as stated on the coupon; 1 lug nut broke coming off; Not his fault. Whoever serviced Richard's vehicle, prior to coming  to our shop, re-installed the lug nut(s) incorrectly & cross threaded them. Therefore when that lug nut is removed; it'll jam up & break the stud under pressure. My tech also discovered another lug nut on a different wheel that was cross threaded. My tech was able to stop in time so that wheel stud didn't break. So we couldn't do a tire rotation because we couldn't removed the wheels & tires correctly. I brought [redacted] out to the shop; showed & explained this to him. I told him I could fix the bad studs for a minor charge; but, I advised him to go back to the shop or person who repaired his brakes, as it  was there fault & they should be held accountable. He thanked me & said that's what he would do.

Our free Vehicle Courtesy Check & Free Battery Check showed a weak battery & a dirty air filter. I showed the customer his dirty air filter & the battery report. He refused replacement.
I'm  shocked  to receiving  this  complaint. The conversations & service went smoothly. There's no Bait & Switch here. 6th Ave Midas, nor it's employees did nothing wrong. We imformed the customer of our charges & the conditions of the coupon prior to performing any servics. There's no refund entitled.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
They are confused, maybe if they didn't allow employee's to come in to work smelling like previous night
Tavern visit, they would remember what they said to who. No one from that shop discussed replacement or
cost of replacing the broken stud that was no fault of theirs.
Sincerely,[redacted]

[redacted] Complaint
[redacted],
I  did show [redacted] the broken studs & offered to replace them; see my 1st response. In [redacted]s 2nd response; he agreed & stated that the broken studs wasn't the fault of our tech.

I   offered a reduction in the price of the battery & air filter; he still said no.
The Oil Change coupon was very specific about the price & conditions; which Iexplained to [redacted] prior to service. He agreed to the cost & signed our incoming invoice. See copies of all invoices & the Midas Oil Change coupon that was sent with my 1st response.
I apoligize for any misunderstanding that [redacted] might have about 6th Ave Midas. The issue appers to be the price of the oil change as stated on the Midas coupon. I'll give [redacted] a refund down to the price as stated on the $19.99 Midas oil change coupon.  [redacted] paid us $30.68, which includes oil & filter disposal & tax. The $19.99 Midas coupon price, with disposal & tax, would be$ 25.2b. I'll refund to [redacted] the difference of $5.48.
