Jack Evans Chevrolet has been in the town of Front Royal
since In the past years, we have sold and serviced thousands of
vehicles for satisfied customers.The customer who originated this complaint drove his vehicle
into the shop on 6/14/with complaints of check engine light,
lack of power
and some type of fluid leaking underneathAfter initial diagnosis customer was
given an estimate of $plus tax and shop supplies and was advised that
vehicle may need further repairs as the vehicle came in with several diagnostic
trouble codes and no oil showing on the dipstickAfter initial repairs
performed several trouble codes returned and was still not running as designed
It was determined that the engine has low compression on cylinder # Advised
customer engine replacement would be best repair in order to receive a full
warranty of years or 100,miles whichever occurs firstCustomer was given
an estimate of $22,for all repairsUpon waiting for customer to approve
repairs, which took several weeks, customer was not charged any storage fees
The engine replacement and all repairs were completed and repairs paid for on
9/12/Jack Evans Chevrolet discounted labor and parts for the customer
Total for repairs came to $When the customer came to pick up his
vehicle he stated the AC was not workingThe customer was advised that no
Freon was recovered from the system during repairs, but Jack Evans Chevrolet
recharged his AC system at no charge.In late September of the customer called in stating his
vehicle was at a Chevrolet dealer in FloridaHe advised that the dealership
said the computer needed programmed and the fuel lines were installed
backwardsWe advised the customer this was not possible as the computer was
replaced at our dealership and was programmed or vehicle would not have
startedAlso advised that the fuel lines can only be installed one way so it
was not possible that they were backwardsHowever due to the cost of repairs
at Jack Evans Chevrolet, Jack Evans Chevrolet paid for the repairs at *** *** Chevrolet in the amount of $as a goodwill to the customer.In closing, this vehicle was only two years old, but had
over 192,milesThis mileage is very excessive to a vehicle that is only
years oldThe vehicle did not appear to be well taken care ofThe customer
originally complained that the dealer that made repairs previous to Jack Evans
Chevrolet should be responsible for repairs and if not General Motors should be
responsibleBoth parties denied any help or participation to the customer

I stopped in at Jack Evans Chevrolet due to a check engine light concern that occurred while moving from Georgia to Maryland. I was traveling with a fully packed vehicle and 2 large dogs. When I called the dealership, they said to bring the car in and they would get to it right away. Mr. Stephen S[redacted] was my service representative, and he was absolutely kind and courteous and made sure that my vehicle was evaluated immediately. He understood the urgency of resolving the issue quickly so that I could complete the drive to my new home in Maryland. I was in and out of the dealership within an hour or so, and this time included the evaluation of the motor and the subsequent repair that was required.
Every single employee at this dealership was courteous and friendly and prompt with their service. I wish they were closer to my new home, I would never take my vehicle anywhere else. If you are in the Front Royal area....I highly recommend this dealership for your service needs. They are top-notch in my book.

Review: My wife and I purchased a used 2001 Dodge Caravan with around 150 k miles on it and we purchased an additional warenty to ensure our projection. One weekend after owning the van our van was smoking. We took it back to the dealership and they said it was the radiator and they replaced it under our warenty with a used radiator. Problem one is no one ever explained to us that the warenty only replaces broken parts with used ones. Problem two when the radiator was being fixed, I told the service department my heat only worked in high. They told me nothing was wrong with it. About two months ago we had a major belt break in the van. A belt does wear and tear however this belt was dry rotted and could have been seen to the common eye if the service department had even bothered to look at it before it was sold. I just took my van to another dealership in my area and paid to have it looked over and advise me of anything that needed to be fixed. Well, they found almost 2 grand worth of repairs all of witch should have been caught by a repairman before a car is sold. I paid 400 worth if repairs and repaired anything the warenty covered. I went to jack Evans dealership to discuss my concern and they advised me that I bought a van that was in 'as in' condition and they were not willing to do anything, Evan though the van started to break within 2 days of pulling off the lot. When I asked what did they do before they sold an as is car to someone they responded, a state inspection and oil change. Meaning they did not even look at my van before they sold it to me. I want to get a warning out to other hard working people to make sure they do not buy a used car from this dealership.Desired Settlement: The dealership needs to repair my van and clearly state their as us policy so everyone can understand it. They also need to get help in customer service.
