Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:MrJohnson has refunded nothing to me, so Item on his response is incorrect His response of expenses is incorrect and I doubt they are supported by receiptsFor example, Item on his document shows material cost of $1, There was less than linear feet of Hardiplank lapboards so the material cost should be no more than $ The flooring ladder (Item 6) cost $578, not $695, and it wasn't installed correctlyThe subtotal of work (Item 12) does not reconcile, so the math is wrong I have no ideal where the allowance from bid (Item 9) comes from and what it is suppose to represent The amount he paid the plumber (Item 11) was $700, not $1, The original contract bid, after adjusting for allowances paid by me, is $30,and not the $37,he shows in Item All of my expenses detailed in the attached document are supported by receipts or paid invoices The $5,he falsely claims to have refunded to me (Item 18) does not even come close to my additional expenses For example, I paid his electrical and plumbing contractors $4,744.86, which were unpaid by him The cabinets cost $6,which he was obligated to furnish The materials and labor charges by the new contractor totaled over $11, If MrJohnson wants to offer a reasonable refund, I am open to discussion so that this very unpleasant experience can be concluded Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I am in receipt of Jack Johnson’s offer to settle for $8,payable in monthly installments of $each While this offer is less than thirty percent of my expenses to complete the job after he abandoned it, I am willing to settle for that amount However, I paid MrJohnson in advance for the work he performed/did not perform - - - - there were no installment options, so I expect the same manner of reimbursement Therefore, his reimbursement offer of $8,needs to be made in one payment I will accept a cashier’s check only, made payable to me and mailed to the above addressRegards, [redacted] ***

BEWARE! We hired Jack to build an office with a half bath in our shop. After giving him 83% of the funds up front in good faith for the job; he abandoned us. He will not return calls, respond to e-mails, or certified letters. As of today, he has not even responded to a request from the RevDex.com. The work that was performed was of very poor quality, which we were willing to let slide, but it lost him an additional project with our home, that we discussed with him in the beginning. He continues to run an ad in the Williamson County Sun in Georgetown, TX.

I was awarded a default judgment for $8,000 plus court fees and interest 07/09/2019. This guy doesn't even respond because he knows how to work the system. He has you write a check out to him personally rather than to the name of his business, that way he can cash his check directly at your bank so he doesn't have to have a bank account, that you can get a writ of execution against. Other victims he just filed bankruptcy and doesn't have to pay now; others are in the same boat as me. There is no documentation that he owns anything in my county, so I have no recourse to collect my judgment; except to hope that I can intervene on one of his current jobs and get a writ against current income.

Concerning the [redacted] residence located at [redacted], Georgetown,TX:I went out as requested to look at damage pertaining to the trim around the bottom of the trailer. I told Mr. [redacted] that I would replace damaged bottom trim. I later found out that it was not possible to replace with the same...

trim as Hope Lumber had gone out of business and this type of trim is not produced elsewhere. During my second visit to the [redacted] residence to drop off some purchased material, I observed what was the cause of the deterioration of the installed material. The siding was leaking into itself under windows 2' above trim board and was also leaking due to roof run down causing water to fall behind siding and trim. These problems caused the trim to become water damaged and rot. In reference to the $3,442.00 paid for work completed, there was additional work completed on the trailer in addition to just the trim repair. However, in a good faith effort to satisfy Mr. [redacted], I will gladly refund $800.00 back for the trim work.I can be reached at [redacted] or by email at [redacted]constructionriemyway.com Sincerely, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Mr. Johnson has refunded nothing to me, so Item 18 on his response is incorrect..  His response of expenses is incorrect and I doubt they are supported by receipts. For example, Item 2 on his document shows material...

cost of $1,000.  There was less than 100 linear feet of Hardiplank lapboards so the material cost should be no more than $75.  The flooring ladder (Item 6) cost $578, not $695, and it wasn't installed correctly. The subtotal of work (Item 12) does not reconcile, so the math is wrong.  I have no ideal where the allowance from bid (Item 9) comes from and what it is suppose to represent.  The amount he paid the plumber (Item 11) was $700, not $1,000.  The original contract bid, after adjusting for allowances paid by me, is $30,601.86 and not the $37,000 he shows in Item 14.  All of my expenses detailed in the attached document are supported by receipts or paid invoices.  The $5,383.14 he falsely claims to have refunded to me (Item 18) does not even come close to my additional expenses.  For example, I paid his electrical and plumbing contractors $4,744.86, which were unpaid by him.  The cabinets cost $6,770 which he was obligated to furnish.   The materials and labor charges by the new contractor totaled over $11,000.  If Mr. Johnson wants to offer a reasonable refund, I am open to discussion so that this very unpleasant experience can be concluded.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: What Mr. [redacted] said about the trim repairs is not true.  The material he brought out to "repair" the rotten trim is the same type of material (pressed board-not treated lumber) and a few of the boards are already flaking and falling apart and are painted the same color as the material he installed 5 years ago.  The charge of $3442.00 was only for the trim repairs.  Mr. [redacted] did do other repair workat the mobile home and on the main home, but these were additional charges:  for the main home, which included window and storm door replacement the charge was $ 4,438.00.  The storm doors did not then and donot now shut properly.  At the mobile home, Mr. [redacted] remodeled the master bathroom for a charge of $4,792.00.  We have no complaints on the bathroom repair.  Mr. [redacted] also was supposed to sand down and paintthe little deck in front of the mobile home.  After about 1 year, the paint started flaking, so Mr. [redacted] came back out and repainted it.  We found out that the paint he used was not for outdoor treated lumber, andso it is flaking and peeling off still.  Mr. [redacted] delivered the "purchased" material on 1-13-16 at 10:05 A.M.  He said he would be back and he has never called regarding his intentions regarding the trim repairs.I called Mr. [redacted] on 1-19-16 at 7:45 A.M, at 1-26-16 at 5:30 P.M.  and left messages.  Mr. [redacted] never called back.  On 1-27-16 at 12:50 P.M. I finally reached Mr. [redacted], and explained to him that another contractor was going to do the repairs on the mobile home, and that he needed to pick up his material, which he left in front of the mobile home and would be in the way of the other contractor.  Mr. [redacted] nevercame by or called to pick up his material.  We are no longer able to pick up heavy items due to age and health issues, so we had to pay our nephew to move the material to the back and away from the mobile home. So, in short, the $800.00 Mr. [redacted] offered does not even come close to the damage he created by putting faulty and improper material as the trim.  We paid for treated lumber and he installed pressed wood.
Regards,
[redacted]
