I was hired to remove an "in-operational oil tank" from said customer At no time was I told the tank had been leaking prior to my arrival Upon my arrival the tank had obviously been leaking for quite some time because there was a piece of cardboard underneath soaked with a large oil spot as well as bucket underneath that was half full and uncovered The tank was still steadily leaking Another gentlemen whom the customer had also known personally arrived prior to me to remove oil via pumping it out Once tank was completely empty it was then removed After removing the tank and clearing the area of our tools and equipment I notified the customer we were done She then came downstairs and looked around, checked the job and seemed to be content She then said, "Thank you, Finally that things outta here!" We went outside and she paid me I was at the location loading up my equipment and whatnot At no time, while she was downstairs checking the work to ensure it was complete did she ever mention, nor did I notice any stains on the rug.We are more than happy to clean up any mess that we make This is the exact reason I told her to go take a look around BEFORE SHE PAID ME! Nothing was mentioned or said, other than THANK YOU! Neither my employee, the oil guys nor the customer mentioned or noticed a stain on the rug Had we, it would have been cleaned up and dealt with accordingly.When people see the area and notice absolutely nothing, including the customer, that means something to me I do not recall exactly when she text me complaining of an issue, but it was at least a day later I mean no disrespect but it seems awfully convenient that the complaint wasn't made at the time I specifically asked her to look around for this exact reason To avoid discrepancies after the fact In addition, I asked her several times for pictures of the stains and they were not given until hours after she had began arguing with me.I have been in no way avoiding this customer, I tried to help her out But, she is being extremely rude and ignorant She had a leaking oil tank the entire time It seems convenient to blame it on me Especially when she made absolutely no claim while we were there If anything the stain would have been worse at that point This entire claim seems bogus If there was a stain we would have been more than happy to clean it up The women received an outstanding discount on a $dollar job The tank was supposed to have gallons or less and there was nearly double that Now shes trying to get more of a discountI don't mean to be rude or obtuse, but when I left there was no stain She acknowledged "nothing being wrong" when we did the walk through and she paid me afterwards
