Review: My complaint consists of the following items:

(1) Jack’s Roofing Company promised to complete the project list of 4 items, but upon completion of 3 they reneged. They offered an explanation that they did not have the appropriate tools or expertise for the job, given that these were all related to roofing repairs. This unfortunately left me in a vulnerable situation since the Home Owners Associated gave me a deadline to complete the work by the end of the month; I will be fined for uncompleted repairs. Jack’s Roofing took about 3-weeks before they informed me they could not do the work after multiple visits to the property.

(2) I was overcharged on labor hours for incomplete work. I was charged for 6.5 hours of labor, notwithstanding, I was told it would take about 3-4 hours.

(3) I specifically asked them to clean out a bird's nest (and birds) lodged within the dryer vent system before installing a screen. They installed the screen on dryer vent without removing the birds and this caused an odor of decaying matter inside the house for several days.Desired Settlement: Further reduce the cost of the job from $1,181.97 ($883.45 + $298.52) by 30% - 40%. I feel duped that they did not keep me informed of the cost! If I had known it was going to be this expensive and the 4th was not going to be done, I would have terminated their work and paid for what was completed.

However, to their credit they did send out a crew to remove the bird's nest at no charge. Moreover, they did reduce the over cost by $85, but in my opinion these concessions are not sufficient.
