The city has spoken to Ms. [redacted] and advised her the city does not issue bill credits for emergency or unscheduled repairs on water lines.  We have responded accordingly:While we make every attempt to flush lines and bring them back into service with minimal disturbance after an emergency...

main break, there are times when customers use water while we are flushing. We make every attempt to notify affected customers but repairs of the mains must be completed as quickly as possible and we may miss someone during out reach.

I will only be happy with the company's resolution when it contains my refund of approximately $2500 for erroneous and impossible water usage charges.Sincerely,[redacted] [redacted]

On May 19, 2017 I contacted Mrs [redacted] at approximately 8:10am. We spoke for 25 mins. I explained who I was and I was looking to help her and bring resolution to the issue. I explained what happened on the day of the “muddy water” issue at her home. The Water Department had an emergency repair and the outage to complete the repair only affected 2 homes, hers was not one of them. During an event like this, we only notify those affected by the shutdown. Because her development is on a loop system the shutdown did not affect her service, hence the no contact. Upon completion of the work, employees re-opened the closed valves which caused a re-direction of water flow that possibly stirred up sediment in the lines that was not anticipated. Mrs [redacted] must have been using water at that time and that use pulled water into her home. A call was received by the department for “dirty water” in that neighborhood and a crew was dispatched to flush the lines, a standard practice for the department. Mrs [redacted] did speak with the employee who informed her she needed to flush her home to clear her system. She did but it took most of the day. We resolved her problem to her satisfaction. She will be credited for 1000 gallons of water - $3.93 on her next statement We consider this matter closed and request these notes be entered into the file and close the case. Thanks Mark Mark J S[redacted]Interim Water Resource DirectorCity of Buckeye[redacted]
