Let me begin by saying, yes I agreed to paint my wife's cousins house, Mr. [redacted]. Not only is he my wife's cousin, he is someone she has looked up to all her life. In the job we pressure washed, sanded down a lot of loose paint on three gables. Which took a lot of sandpaper, primer,...

caulking, and finish paint. The home that we are speaking of is a 1900's Historical two story home that was in need of so much work. Being that Mr. [redacted] is my wife's family, I gave him a really good price that I should have charged him we'll over $4000 to do all the work that was needed. In the beginning of the job Mr. [redacted] had asked me the question of why I was painting before caulking. The product I was applying to the home was not paint it was seal grip, a product of PPG Paints. Their top of the line primer. After pressure washing, sanding or scraping comes the priming, the caulking and then the painting. Mr. [redacted] did not agree on the steps or the order I do my work. On one of the gables Mr. [redacted] wanted to add flashing. Mr. [redacted] stated that I had put the flashing on the wrong gable, all the while Mr. [redacted] stood there for two hours watching me put on the gable not once did he bother to mention that I was doing the wrong side. In fact what he did say was that I was doing such a good job. Now, at the time I had other jobs going on that do to the weather were put on hold. When the weather had cleared up we went to finish the other jobs before Mr. [redacted]'s. Most contractors have more than one job going on at the same time in order to pay bills and survive. Mr. [redacted] told me not to worry, that this project he had going on wouldn't be ready for a year and said for us to take our time. It did not take over a month to get back to Mr. [redacted]'s home as he stated. In fact, after a week and a half I text Mr. [redacted] to let him know I was coming back but, he told me not to bother. Mr. [redacted] had decided to hire one of my workers to do the work himself. Work that was requested of me to do by Mr. [redacted]'s partner/brother-in-law.There is so much more I could say about Mr. [redacted] and his behavior but that wouldn't be very professional of me, so I'll keep it at that. I work hard to make my customers happy but I'm sure you are aware of how some customers can be tough and sometimes ugly.Mrs. [redacted] I hope that by me writing this will not hurt my report. I know you probably took my A+ and put a C because I didn't reply. But the fact of the matter is that you had my email and phone number both wrong. In behalf of myself, my wife and my sons we would like very much to have our A+ back. I am willing to give Mr. [redacted] $150 to add the flashing to the side he wants.Thank you, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I will do the repairs myself.
Regards,
