They sent a service guy who was clueless and was on the phone most of the time with someone elseAfter two hours of being on the phone, in and out, up and down he left and said the unit was fixed but may take the day to cool off the house as it was over degrees in the home
I left the next morning to go home and the temperature never got below degrees for my grandson's wife

Crooked Company

I first became aware of Jackson when I filed a repair order with my home warranty company. They did such a good job that when I needed a split unit installed in another house I gave them the job. We have been pleased with their work. I live in Tarboro NC.

Complaint[redacted] (owner) sent his tech [redacted] to my home to fix my AC. He arrived at 330 pm and did not leave until 930 pm and did not fix a thing. next [redacted] cam came to my home and determined that my air handler fan and heat strip control board was bad. it was sending voltage to my heat strips and my condensing unit at the same time. he proceeded to disconnect the heat strip wires as to only leave the compressor/condenser fan and evaporator fan running and then proceed to leave telling me he would order the faulty board. through the midnight hours the board completely shorted catching the board on fire and stopping the evaporator fan motor. I woke to a strong burnt electrical smell looking for the source (he could have potentially caught my home on fire). I called him the next morning and he sent [redacted] back out to install an aftermarket relay to bypass the burnt board. he attempted to install the relay and in the process cut into the original wiring harness of my air handler damaging it further. After two hours the tech still could not get my A/C going and my A/C was worse than before he showed up. Over a week later and 1 scheduled appointment still has not shown up to repair my A/C Unit. I am very concerned that he will not be able to return it to its original state, nor do I want a potential fire hazard siting under my master bedroom. I would like for them to accept responsibility for cutting and burning my air handler wiring harness and replace it with a brand new undamaged unit. very upset and disappointed customer.Product_Or_Service: A/C RepairDesired SettlementI would like a working and undamaged air handling unit. I do not feel safe with cut and spliced high voltage wires under my home.Business Response Mr. [redacted] failed to mention that the tech. was there to repair two of his units, the one up-stairs as well. The unit down stairs was not fixed until I came out to discover the heat and cooling calling at the same time. I disconnected the power leg to the heat side coming from the control board and secured with UL approved electric tape. This was a temp fix until approval was given by the insurance carrier to order and send the board to shop. The board was ordered on 6/21/14 did not come in until 7/1/14. His board shorted out while waiting for he new board. He failed to say the unit did work and cooled his house down until the relay part of he board shorted out, not the general purpose (UL Approved) relay. When the control board failed, Mr. [redacted] called on he next day to inform me that the downstairs unit was iced up. I asked if the fan was blowing he told me no, I said cut the unit off until the board arrives. I had a general purpose relay installed, as for the wiring harness the only wires cut were to install the step down Transformer. The original transformer was shorted when the control board failed. The tech was in the process of replacing this item when Mr. [redacted] told him to leave his house. Mr. [redacted] was called and texted with undates to keep him informed of the arrival of his new control board, as well as the insurance carrier kept him informed. I arrived on 7/3/14 to installed the new control board, as stated before the wiring harnes was not cut out nor was the unit maimed. I installed the new transformer as well as the new control board. Placed new solder connection on the ends of the four wires that were cut, unit operational, in cooling and heat. I do not think cutting four wire to wire a new transformer should call for the replacement of this unit with a new one. Every part is this unit is safe and works according to maufactors specs. Consumer Response What Mr. [redacted] failed to mention was that his tech was here to fix both of my units, however he was trying to fix my upstairs unit that had nothing wrong with it, stated by Mr. [redacted] upon his arrival at my home. He stated that the reason my upstairs was not cooling as well was because it was working over time because of the failure down stairs. So again tech at my house for 6 hours and did not repair anything. Mr. [redacted]'s temp fix lasted less than 8 hours, and when shorted as he stated caught the board on fire send burnt electrical smell in to my home and potentially cause my home to catch on fire. He NEVER had a general purpose relay installed rather his tech tried to install a general purpose relay. After watching his tech for 2 hours (Mr. [redacted] stated it would take 15 min) cut way more than 4 wires almost every wire 10 or more. He tried more than once after attempting to install the relay to start my unit realizing that he failed and it would not operate. He then proceeded to dis connect thermostat wires and many others inside on the thermostat and outside on the condensing unit, neither of which had anything to do with what he was trying to fix. his tech does not even know very basic trouble shooting steps. (KISS, Keep it simple stupid) That is the reason I made him leave. He is the most incompetent tech I have ever had the experience watching. I was called once by Mr. [redacted] with and update and I was never called by my insurance company. I had to make every call to Mr. [redacted] and the insurance company. Cutting 6-8 wires going to the control board and 4 wires going to the transformer is not acceptable as both are "plug and play". Mr. [redacted] did not come in my home the last time he was here, so how does he know if the heat and air was working? I have pictures of the burnt board, and as my ac unit sits right now the new board is not wired the same, although the AC seems to be working I am not confident it will work for any length of time being wired differently than factory. I will never let this company back on my property and caution anyone who is thinking about using they to be VERY leery and seek a more professional experienced company. I am going to have to have another company come check over his work before I will ever feel comfortable that my AC unit is 100% correct.Final Business Response My response is the same as stated on July 4, 2014. Kind Regards,

My grandson who is in the Air Force and had been deployed and not home. When I got there at their house one of the two A/C unit was not working right. My grandson had some homeowner insurance and we were told we had to use this company.
They sent a service guy who was clueless and was on the phone most of the time with someone else. After two hours of being on the phone, in and out, up and down he left and said the unit was fixed but may take the day to cool off the house as it was over 85 degrees in the home.

Called this company, left a message as you seem to never seem to get someone on the phone. Took a couple days to get a call back and asked for my money back. They told me they could not give me my money back as they "did not have it anymore" as it went to the insurance company. Asked them if they then worked for free but never got an answer. Of course they did not come for free.
Got some else to come and fix the unit and cost me another $500.00 to get it fixed right. The service guy from Jackson Aire even worked on the wrong unit while was there as this house has two units from what the new company told me.
Called [redacted] to stop payment and the rep from this company lied and said I never called back to complain.
DO NOT USE JACKSON AIRE IF YOU NEED THE WORK DONE RIGHT. ON TOP OF THIS THIS COMPANY IS NOT HONEST AND LIED TO [redacted]S.
My grandson who is in the Air Force and of course does not make much money is out the $60.00 and [redacted] is $60.00 richer.
