Jackson Auto Center Reviews (1)

We purchased a used vehicle 7-16-14. A few repairs were to be made. After delivery of vehicle and failing emissions, we incurred $744 of repair fees.My husband purchased a used 2002 [redacted] from Clarence on July 16, 2014. The check engine light was on and they said it was an O2 sensor. They said they replaced it along with doing some other minor "fixes" requested by my husband. I took the vehicle to be tested for emissions on July 21st and it did not pass. It failed gas pressure cap inspection (which is minor), but also showed a manufacturer trouble code. I took it to our local [redacted] dealership and after having to replace another 02 sensor (I know there are 2 but they stated they had completed all repairs which included the 02 sensor), a new gas cap, and a new bulb for the check engine light that had been removed (remember it was on when my husband purchased the vehicle?), I got to pay a repair bill of $743.99. Since a mechanic at their dealership removed the check engine light bulb, the repairs were either not completed originally or there were additional repairs that needed to be made that they did not want to fix nor wanted to notify us of. They obviously believe in unethical practices when trying to sale a vehicle by removing the check engine light bulb. This vehicle was for my 16 year old son and I would hate to think what might have happened if there was something wrong with the vehicle that may have potentially put my son in danger and he would not have known due to the check engine light bulb being removed. Also, they charge a $189.00 Customer Service Fee on the Bill of Sale that is pure profit to them. It stated on the B.O.S that it is not an official fee and is not required by law but may be charged by a dealer.Desired SettlementWe would like to be refunded the cost of repairs in the amount of $743.99. Business Response We did send the 02 [redacted] for repairs and thought the problem was corrected. Our normal procedure is to try and satisfy our customers in every way. We have been in contact with the purchasers regarding this issue. Our expectation when we sell a vehicle is for the buyer to contact us with any problems before they have anything repaired. This allows us to have our people verify any issues and also make any repairs at a less then retail repair cost. We are sorry for the problems with the [redacted] and have relayed that to them. Thanks, [redacted]
