This patient came into our office as a new patient wanting free whitening We completed a comprehensive exam, full mouth series of ex rays, an adult cleaning and a fluoride treatment We explained to the patient that we accepted all insurances but we were not in her network and that the insurance company would likely downgrade the services and would not cover the fluoride She was aware of this and wanted to go ahead with the appointment The insurance company paid of her A full mouth series of ex rays is only done every to years so this fee is not for exam and cleaning only as the patient stated in her complaint and slandered us on Facebook She also called the exam a month routine exam and it was a comprehensive oral evaluation which is also a higher fee She might have gone to a dentist every months for her whole life like she stated but she is a new patient in our office and we diagnose any and all decay and stand behind our recommendationsThe patient was shown the ex rays and pictures and was educated on the findings and treatment recommendation and all questions were answered by Dr [redacted] The patient seemed to understand her needs and was receptive to treatment We recommend that her dental treatment is complete before undergoing a whitening treatment in our office for the patients safety The patient stated that she does not trust us to provide competent care to herIn light of this we feel it is inappropriate for us to provide any dental care other than emergency services until she establishes a relationship with another office We are happy to forward copies of her ex rays to the office of her choice at no charge We are willing to write off her existing balance that is due in an effort to resolve this situation We are sorry for any miscommunicationWe have never had a complaint filed against us in 24yrs of private practiceWe take pride in being an office that functions under the highest standards of integrityThis is an unfortunate situation that we desire to resolve immediately
