Business does false advertisement to get customers in the door and then overcharges for their services.
When calling Jackson Hewitt for an appointment to get our taxes done,I asked about their advertisement online of $50 off of last year's tax services for new customers & was told that they would honor this advertisement. After I made the appointment, I also seen on Morgan's Deals an offer to purchase a voucher for $49 at Jackson Hewitt for $200 worth of tax prep services. I decided to go ahead and purchase the voucher for $49 so that my husband and I could receive a further discount as the voucher advertises. We then went to our appointment for services on XX-XX-XX at 5pm and sat there for an hour and 15 min. before being seen. There was only 1 person working in the office and he was already seeing someone else (we don't know if she had an appointment or if he just decided to take a walkin even though we had an appt.). The worker seemed to care less if we had an appointment or not and when I asked about it, he looked at me like I was rude or something. I told him about the $50 off the price paid for last year's tax services that is advertised online that was confirmed by phone of customer service when I made the appointment and he acted as if he never heard of this and didn't respond. At the end of preparing our taxes (which my husband and I didn't feel that he was very knowledgable or enthused about doing to begin with), he stated the charges of $263 (!!!)....I showed him the Morgan's Deal coupon and he said he's not familiar with that, it doesn't have a code that he can put in the computer and it must have a code (??)....I then reminded him of the online advertisement for Jackson Hewitt and he didn't seem to know anything about that either....after 7pm, he asked to take a break and think about this (>?)...then, came back and said he would have to fax the coupon to the business office and called them and came back at 7:15 then told us he would need to put our tax paperwork on hold and promised he would get back to us the next day by phone....we never received a call all day. Two days after, 03-10-13, I called the phone number listed for that office at noon after their lines opened and got a general call center person who takes the calls for the office.....I gave her all of the information and that my husband and I would just like an answer and to get our taxes completed....the customer service rep. stated she would give all of the information to her supervisor who would then be in contact with me. The next day, now 3 days after no response at all and our tax paperwork is still on hold with no validation of their advertised coupons or return phone calls..lousy customer service!!..3-11-13,I called the main customer service #XXX-XXX-XXXX, the voice mail states that their hours of service start at 8am yet it then goes to a recording to state they are closed and to leave a message but then disconnects the call so that no message can be left. Is this a setup so that when they see our phone# it just hangs up or what is the deal???? My husband and I paid $160 last year for tax services therefore at the very least they should honor their online advertisement of $50 less than last year's price paid at our previous tax service place (which we will be going back to!) and that would leave the total owed of $113 instead of $263 (which is absolutely ridiculous to pay for a standardized form 1040...for a personal tax filing!). For the $49 we paid on Morgan's Deals.com, when you go into the site and pull up the offer to buy, it states at all participating locations but the list of locations is so long that at the very bottom, the website is listed to click on for further locations and then when you click on it, it brings up the St. Charles location, therefore it does appear that St. Charles office location is included as a participating location....Jackson Hewitt not only will not honor the voucher we paid for but acts like they've never even heard of Morgan's deals!
They use false advertisement to get you in the door and then rip you off!
