Business responded to complaint. I'm writing in response to a complaint filed by customer [redacted] . The initial field measure and onsite quote was done on Thurs. 12/26/13.Mrs. [redacted] said she needed to transfer some money to her account and would mail her... deposit . The check was dated for 12/27/13 but we did not receive it in the mail until Thurs. 01/02/14. Material for there project was ordered the following day and arrived at our shop on 1/10/14. Contact with the customer was consistent while there job was being fabricated. There were several days due to the weather during the next few weeks that delayed our installation schedule. The customer was made aware of these delays and her husband [redacted] realized that the delays were out of our control and we apologized for the extended time frames. I spoke with [redacted] on Friday 1/31/14 and scheduled the install for the following Friday.2/7/14 and reminded him to make sure he removed the existing sink and countertops prior to our arrival on the 7th to which his response was yes he would. The installers arrived as scheduled to find that the countertops were still in place , the installers showed on her invoice. (she had a copy of the same invoice that was mailed after her deposit was received) were it stated basic installation and no mention of tear-out on the invoice.A phone call was made to [redacted] and an agreement was reached that we would do the tear-out of counters in lieu of the $200 dollars off [redacted] wanted for the delays in the project. [redacted] stated she never received the mailed invoice yet called a few days after it was mailed and stated that the price was wrong on it because she was quoted $2,400.00 at the initial field measure but called and said Lowe's had quoted her $2,000.00 and asked if we would do it for the same price , we agreed to do it for that price and never asked her to produce the quote from lowe's because we had done work for her father in the past and never had any issues. Finally like I stated earlier we apologized for the delay , But Mrs. [redacted] stated in her complaint that she got "screwed". She got a $2,600.00 solid surface countertop job for $2,000.00 with a tear-out.In response to her feeling intimidated by our installers is ridiculous ,they are professional and courteous and have never heard a comment like that in the hundreds of installations they have done. I feel the $600.00 is more than enough of compensation for having to wait a few extra weeks to get her new countertops installed while she still had a fully functioning kitchen in the meanwhile. As for the 2 guys "contractors" that were doing work at her house , the only thing that they would have been delayed doing is putting 1 Piece of window trim up. which our installers stated was already complete at the time of installation. Lastly Mrs. [redacted] threatened the installers with calling the BBB , They called the office and [redacted] was called by the office and he assured us after the agreement to tear-out the counters at NO EXTRA COST that the BBB would not be contacted. So if anybody got "screwed" in this exchange I don't believe it was Mrs. [redacted] .
