Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/22) */
Contact Name and Title: *** ***
Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX
Contact Email: ***@symbiontservices.com
We did receive a call from Mr*** for a no coolWe went out to diagnose the unit, and found a leak in the coilLeaks inside the
coil are not fixableWe had added freon so they would be comfortable till the coil could be replacedThe charges he is disputing is for that callThe whole time my techs were there, Mrs*** was badgering one of them till her husband told her to be quiet and go into another roomFreon is covered under the limited warranty for days, labor daysWe did not install this system originally, but went to a lot of work to track down the supplier and ordered the replacement coil in which we have to pay for till we can return the old one and the warranty is processed, which takes approximately monthThis coil would have cost the customer $All they would have paid for was labor, freon, and a liquid line dryer, all of which are out of warrantyIn the meantime, the homeowner cancelled the order, and we had to return the coil which was already delivered to our shop and billed on our accountI have checked with the supplier because Mr*** insisted the unit was recalled, but ICP/Heil (brand of unit) does not have any recalls on those units at this time, per *** *** When I asked Mr*** how he had gotten the recall info, he stated it was between him and the other personHe was berating my company and was belligerent, so I told him I couldn't help him if he couldn't produce proof of the recall and hung upI will forward the warranty info and lack of recall from *** *** and *** when I meet with them to get it Friday, to back my informationAs far as *** not having a leak detector, that is trueWe were extremely busy with our other customers, so *** drove his personal vehicle to check the unit and add freon to make sure this customer didn't suffer in the high temperatures we were having at the time90+ degreesI would think they would be thankful to have air conditioningInstead, they are playing our company, the one who did the original install and *** *** to try to get something for nothingWhile I do agree 3-yr old units shouldn't have a problem, sometimes they doWe have to follow the MFG warranty, as they are the ones who made the unitAs soon as I have the information Friday, I will forward it to you
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Why are we getting charged a *** bill on 7/10/when he should have checked for a leak when he was here on 5/28/He said he didn't have a leak detector & would be back to check for a leakWe waited & waited & no one called, so we called them on 7/9/to ask why we weren't called back for him to come out & check for a leak to finish the job from 5/28/15.This bill should have been included in the bill of 5/28/and not an additional charge; so *** should be -0- & a refund to us of *** from *** It was on 7/10/when they came out they gave us the verbal estimate of *** for labor & the dryer for replacement of the A-coil
My wife & I both complained to them that *** out of our pocket for something years old that should be under warranty is excessiveWe did get the remainder of the warranty repairs done for us at no additional cost from another HVAC company
I didn't berate their company & I wasn't belligerent; I was merely asking for my money back as I was told the A-coil was on a recall
We live in a new subdivision with all homes being built within the last yearsI personally know of neighbors who had the exact same problem as I did and all had their A-coils replaced and completely covered at no cost to themAll I am asking for is my repairs to be covered at no cost to me
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/07/29) */
In response to homeowner's last commentI will be willing to remove the *** charge for the 2nd service callI will not reduce the original invoiceIt clearly states in the manufacture's warranty there is no coverage for labor or freonThe homeowner called the original installer after talking to us, and it was that companies call as to whether they would do the job for no chargeWe followed the mfg warrantyAs far as freon being *** we can't even purchase it at that priceIn the years we have been in business, we have never paid that low of a price for itI have had my supplier call other companies and they are all at *** We are actually on the lower end of the scale for freonI stand by our charges
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2015/07/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We have shown our willingness to compromise, but they evidently aren't willing to compromise on the original invoice; the second invoice should have never been sent as it should have been taken care of in the first invoiceThrough my research on the internet I have found that I, as a retail customer, can buy a lbcylinder of RFreon for *** plus shipping and dealer wholesale is *** plus free shipping if bought in quantityTherefore, I feel my previous offer is more than fair
