I had work done on my ball joints on the right side front. I complained there was still issues going on with it a week later they told me it was just because I had a new tire. I have returned to them many times for them to fix the problem since and they remember doing the work because they told my wife and I that my van was the only vehicle that they did ball joint work on for the whole year. They now will not fix it because I do not have the receipt. Now they want to charge me again for the same thing again that never got fix to begin with. I have gone to 2 other places and had it checked out and they both same thing that there is too much play in the joints to even get a alignment causing more damage to my vehicle. He admits that he has a copy of the receipt but will not get it.Desired SettlementMoney back or van fixedBusiness Response The customer came in approximately a year and a half ago to have 1 ball joint replaced to pass the NC vehicle inspection since it failed by another shop. The ball joint was replaced and it passed inspection. At the time the ball joint was replaced the vehicle was test drove to ensure that the issue was resolved. This was also confirmed by it passing the NC safety inspection by another inspection station (Jacksonville Van & 4x4 does not do state inspections). At the time of repair the customer was advised to replace both ball joint vise only one on the side requested, customer declined. The customer did not come in a week later; he did come in over a year later after the warranty period on the part had expired. The customer is unable to give us an approximation on when he actually came in so we can attempt to locate his work ticket in our archived paper copies, or produce a receipt showing which ball joint was replaced. Jacksonville Van & 4x4 replaces over a hundred ball joints a year not just one, so it makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly when the customer came and had work done.
