Please provide me with the date the message was left so that I can properly research this issue.  From my initial review of the account, I do not see any violations of the FDCPA, or any other applicable state or federal law.

Although the balance is due on the account, we have been providing Ms. [redacted] an option to pay the amount off in installments in lieu of a garnishment being filed.  There have been issues with her payments...

in the past not being made every month, and not always in the agreed upon amount.  As long as monthly payments are received in the amount agreed up, no garnishment will be filed.  If a payment is missed, then a garnishment will be filed without first contacting Ms. [redacted] per her request.

The City of [redacted] placed three delinquent accounts belonging to Ms. [redacted] with our office for collection.  The amount due to the City of [redacted] was $700.00 at the time of placement.  In addition pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. § 21-17-1 a collection fee of $175.00 is also...

due.  The toal amount currently due is $875.00.

The subject account was placed with our office for collections.  On November 27, 2017 a letter pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was mailed to Ms [redacted].  On December 27, 2017 a lawsuit was drafted and mailed to the [redacted] Justice Court for filing.  The...

Justice Court has set the lawsuit for hearing on February 21, 2018.  On January 31, 2018, Ms [redacted] called our office and requested that we cease making phone calls to her place of employment.  No calls have been made since this request nor will they be made in the future.  Between November 27, 2017 and the time of her request on January 31, 2018, the dates of calls from our office are: December 20, 2017, December 27, 2017, January 3, 2018, January 10, 2018 and January 31, 2018.  Please let me know if you need anything further.

I have research this complaint and have concluded that there have been no violations of any state or federal laws in the way the calls were handled.  A delinquent tax account was forwarded to Jacob Collection Group, LLC by the Mississippi Department of Revenue.  During the telephone...

conversation complained of, Mr. [redacted] stated that he hasn’t lived in Mississippi for over 20 years and he was asked to provide proof.  Mr. [redacted] then asked if he was supposed to send W2 and was told it was up to him.  He was then told that he could contact the Mississippi Department of Revenue if he chose but we needed more proof that the taxes were not owed by him.  Our representative did not raise her voice or act unprofessionally.
Mr. [redacted] has provided the Mississippi Department of Revenue with the information requested, the issue has been resolved, and the account was recalled from our office.

Since our initial response to the consumers complaint, we have received the cease & desist request in the mail.  The file has been marked so that the consumer and his family members will not receive any phone calls from this office concerning this account.
