Jacobs Glass Reviews (1)

Broke my trunk cover and said it was already broken. The company representative said there were items in the trunk and it was emptyI have used Jacob's for years but I will never go there again. I had my back glass replaced and the service was awful. They said the job was completed and the molding and lights were left hanging out. I spoke with[redacted] and they took it back in to fix. There was no apology for the failure to complete the job. Then when I got home the cover to my trunk was broken. I called and took it back and they lied and said it was already broken. Said I had a TV in the trunk which was not true. I cleaned the trunk out except for the broken glass which[redacted] told they would remove. I think when vacuumimg the glass out, it pull the cover and broke it.This was all handled through [redacted] for the back windshield replacement so I don't know the cost of the job.Desired SettlementI want Jacob's to repair my cover. I can't conceal anything in my trunk now. I don't want to be robbed.Business Response Customer brought car in for rear window replacement. The technician states he couldn't get the molding and light to stay in place, that the plastic was deteriorated and he couldn't get it to hold. [redacted] (auto glass manager) was able to get it snapped into place. The technician should have had [redacted] try before sending the car out and [redacted] should have apologized for this happening. Jacobs Glass does apologize for this. It is not up to our standards. However, the trunk cover was not broken during our work. In order to vacuum trunk space items were removed from the trunk. The technician states that the trunk cover wasn't in place when he worked on the car, but something was wrapped up in plastic which he removed. It appeared to him to be the trunk cover in question. He vacuumed the trunk and window area and replaced the glass. When the customer returned with the complaint, [redacted] told her that it appeared to him that something heavy had hit it in order to break it. [redacted] states that the customer then told him she had a TV in the trunk recently and [redacted] said that must have been what broke it. Jacobs Glass does not feel it is our responsibility to replace the trunk cover.Consumer Response The cover was in place when [redacted] Police did the damage report. It was a small 19 inch TV that did not reach the area that was broken. Nothing was damaged including the molding. Now in addition, the molding is moving and wires are exposed. My cover was not brokenFinal Business Response Jacobs Glass does not believe we are responsible for the cover. Our technician says it was not in place when he worked on the car. He said there was something wrapped in plastic in the trunk that was broken and he believes that was the the cover.
