Jaindl Turkey Farms Reviews (1)

The issue that has supported my decision to make this complaint is the ceiling/roof in the enclosed porch area of this homeI have many pictures of this poorly maintained roofThe roof in this area of the home leaks every single time that it rainsNot only am I concerned for mold in this home, but also the fact that one of the areas that the roof leaks is right over the breaker box for the whole home, which alone is a huge fire hazardWhen we had first inspected this home before choosing to rent, we had not realized that this area was consistently getting wet from weather conditions
My concerns for mold had first arrived when we had a pipe burst in the basement on April 30th 2015, which then took Jaindl until May 5th to repairWater was sitting on the floor since it had burst until it was fixedIn the first letter I sent to Jaindl on May 15th 2015, I had expressed my concern for mold being in this home only due to the water that kept arrivingMy concern for the enclosed porch ceiling was also noted in the first letter sentThe condition of this roof continues to get worse
The stains that I found in the kitchen on the first day that we arrived to this home, have been documentedThis was not from my cooking, and this was not properly cleaned prior to any tenants moving inThe grease is no longer there since I cleaned the area
Rent for the month of August was paid in full because we did not at the time know we had an opportunity to leave the propertySince Catherine Jaindl advised we could break our lease early on June 26th, 2015, we were actively looking as I advised her we wouldThe property was never vacatedWe did not feel the need to move all of our personal items out right away as rent was paid in full for the month and saw no concern with us leaving as we were advised this was okay to do
The roof was first noticed to be leaking back on June 13th, On June 15th, Jaindl Properties sent out a Jaindl maintenance worker to patch up the roofThe patch was made and the roof leaked the very same nightI advised Jaindl of this issue immediately as my concern was growingThe same maintenance worker came back to the home on June 16th and advised he would need to speak with Kent the head of maintenance
I the sent a letter to Jaindl on June 20th asking them to remediate the roof as I had not heard or seen anything from them by that time
The area where this roof leaks, above the breaker box was the start to our son’s bedroom on the second floorI did not feel safe, both because of my mold concern and the water leaking above the breaker box which could start a fire at any momentIn addition to this roof, the other portion of the enclosed porch area has water that leaks under the base boards of the home onto the floor any time that it rains as wellThis is something else that we came to notice after living on the properties for some timeThis is not something you are able to notice during a walk-through of a home unless it is currently raining
As stated in the letter sent to Jaindl in regards to us leaving the property, we did have to quickly move into the property that came available to us, but my fiancé was actively going back and forth to the property at Brickyard RdWhen the maintenance worker arrived to the property to fix the pipe that had burst in the basement for the second time, the home was not completely empty, we still had things that were necessary for my fiancé to stay there like the washer/dryer, a fridge, a microwave and the bed upstairs
This complaint has not been filed in fear of Jaindl filing with the Magistrate for unpaid damagesIt is simply because I feel this home is not up to housing code and I fear the company renting this home to another family
While speaking to a neighbor before leaving the home, we came to find out the home across the street from Brickyard was vacated due to black moldThen my concerns for the mold that I have been asking to be taken care of arose tremendouslyThe roof in this home should have been fixed prior to any person(s) moving in, it leaks, that grows concerns for moldWe had not realized during our walk through that this roof was actively getting wetCatherine Jaindl did also fail to mention our phone call where she advised we could break our lease early and is now stating that the lease is still active
We received a letter from Jaindl properties on September 1st stating that we need to return the keys to their office by 9/7/and remove the rest of our belongings, and we did soIn this letter Jaindl only threatened to take us to court if we did not do so…
My fiancé found out that he has gout during this move so that prolonged us from getting all of our items out of the home by the end of August, which I will take responsibility for
We are not currently in an active lease with Jaindl as it was advised that we could break the lease due to my concerns of mold and fireOur intent to leave was notified to Jaindl by mail on August 18th I have taken pictures of us moving in, while living there/problems that we came to notice and now that we have left I took pictures of every room in the condition we left it
