From: [redacted] Sent: Sunday, January 08, 3:PMSubject: response to complaint # [redacted] Here is Jake's Auto's response to claim # [redacted] .This client never paid for unauthorized repairs to his vehicleThe only charges that were paid for were for what the client diagnosed to be the issue and the parts and labor to fix that issueThe $the client is saying is the purchase price is not accurateThe client actually paid $1065, the other $is the ESTIMATE to repair the remaining issues, not what he actually paid, making his statement that we charge for unauthorized repair completely false We did test the vehicle after doing the authorized repairs, which is how we knew further diagnostic work was needed since the client’s diagnosis and authorized repairs didn’t fix his vehicleBut since this client did not want to pay for further diagnosing, part’s or labor, his vehicle left here with only the authorized work completedIf a client refuses further diagnostics, parts and labor, then unfortunately only the authorized work will be completed and will have to be sufficientFurthermore, a client who self-diagnosis the problem and only authorizes those repairs, cannot claim we don’t check our work because it didn’t fix his vehicle as he had hopedAlso, this client was told over the phone on separate occasion’s what our hourly shop rate isThe client was also in the office on separate occasions where there is a sign clearly stating our hourly rateThe fact that the client did not read / see these signs and cannot recall the conversations does not mean he was not informed and that we change our prices depending on the mechanic’s moodAlso the client fails to mention he attempted to have his vehicle towed off the property before he paid his billOnce his bill was paid in full, he was given a receipt (not days later, as he states)This client also fails to mention he wanted to know the diagnosis of the problems we found, but did not want to pay for that diagnosis, so he became upset that we didn’t tell him the additional issues we found, for freeThe facts are this, the client only paid for the work he authorized, is disputing estimated costs of repair, not money actually paid, was given a receipt for repair work once the bill was paid in full, and was told what our shop rate is and had access to the shop where the hourly rate is clearly posted
