Re: Complaint #***
EXTRA ELECTRICAL
I am responding to Extra Electrics rebuttal to my complaint filed on July 2, 2015. I wish to continue to pursue my complaint against Extra Electric for the following reasons.
MR *** STATED IN HIS RESPONSE:
"when a customer chooses to be a owner
builder, they are the pool company and should become knowledgeable in all
phases of the project and ordering of the proper equipment".
I MUST OBTAIN A CITY PERMIT TO BUILD ON MY RESIDENTIAL
PROPERTY. I obtained an owner build permit, this does not make me a pool company. I am knowledgeable in all building phases of my project, including
ordering proper equipment requested by the various contractorsALL the
other phases of the pool construction process went off without a problem
INCLUDING ORDERING PROPER EQUIPMENT.
No one, not even general contractors have all the knowledge
or should know all the aspects of any TRADE PROCESS, otherwise why hire sub
contractors at all Sub contractors are specialized in a certain field
of work and I hired Extra Electrical A CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN to run the
electricity FOR MY POOL
"We as a company feel we went above
and beyond all expectations. Normally a job is bid by email or fax, when
bid is accepted the work is done and completed in one trip. In this case
we gave a free service call to bid the job, a second trip to do a rough in
(equipment was not set and customer was having issues with setting equipment in
easement) and third for a finish up"
Mr*** never stated, at any time, he was giving me a
"free service call" to bid the job. In fact, Mr*** requested to come to my residence to take his OWN measurements. He
did not request measurements to be sent to him via email or fax. For his "second" trip to my residence, he was supposed to show up at 12:p.mbut, after initiating
contact with him on separate occasions during the day , he did not arrive until 5:45 pm. He was six (6) hours late
causing me to take an unnecessary half day off of work.
His statement regarding the equipment not being set is false, the
plumbing and rebar were finished. There was a misunderstanding between myself and Mr*** about who would be supplying the automation, LED light
and light casing, therefore, I did not have the equipment for him to hook
up. He stated it wasn't a problem and he would make it so I
passed inspection the next day. It was 9PM before he completed the work. In addition, in the process of bonding the pool, and digging the
trenches he busted sprinkler lines I had warned him about
(there were 2x4s covering the pipes).
Had he of shown up at the scheduled time of
12:p.mI could have ordered the equipment, had it picked up for him to
install within minutes and there never would have been a "third"
trip.
"Equipment was not what customer thought she was getting, we
immediately informed her that ** *** was not a power center. As for the
pool light, it came in a box labeled 120v, we informed her that the orange cord
seemed odd (12v pool lights could come with black or orange cords) however
there was no transformer onsite or mention of this pool light being 12v."
I asked Mr*** what he recommended for an automation
system, (as I thought HE was supposed to be a "knowledgeable" electrician)
I ordered the product Mr*** recommendedHe informed me I did not have a power center and I explained I had installed a sub panel which
was to be the power center. Mr*** should have been
"knowledgeable" in this regard as a LICENSED ELECTRICIAN.
There is no way to confirm or deny what the
outside of the box stated as the equipment came in UPS boxes and I
supplied both boxes to Mr*** unopened. The boxes have since been
thrown away. In Mr***'s statement he admits the orange cord
"seemed odd", so why didn't he ask to see my receipt which clearly
states 12v? He admits 12v pool lights could come with black or orange cords. Again he is the LICENSED ELECTRICIAN and HE SHOULD HAVE INFORMED ME there was no transformer in
either box; and, SHOULD HAVE INFORMED me I needed one.
"A revised invoice
reflecting all payments made was sent to her via email, we did not send her a
paid in full receipt because there is an outstanding balance for the work that
was completed".
This statement is correctBut, what he fails to mention is
I paid in full, the bid that was sent to me on March 27, 2015. He
also fails to mention is the "revised invoice" reflects an additional
$133.00. This additional $133.00, was an error on his
assistant's part which she ADMITS IN HER EMAIL. The additional $
MISTAKE BY AN ASSISTANT IS NOT MY OBLIGATION, it was Mr***'s responsibility to make sure the bid was correct prior to sending it to me on March 27, 2015. I agreed to the amount of
$1,($1,075-5% discount for paying cash = $1,021.25) which I paid in
full.
The additional $could have been the deciding factor between
hiring Extra Electric or another electrical companyHer adding in a charge which
she claims she forgot to add in, is not my fault, nor should I be responsible
to pay for it.
Clearly, Mr*** in his response to my concerns, only
points A FINGER, and does nothing to facilitate any sort of
resolution. I hired Mr***, a LICENSED
ELECTRICIAN to install and wire the electrical, for my pool, not me.
I hired him to install a working light; and, to date, I do not have a working
light I have an email from *** (maker of light) stating the light was wired incorrectly,
THEREFORE IT IS THE REASON WHY THE LIGHT DOES NOT WORK. Extra
Electrical should be solely responsible to replace the light
I EXPECT THESE ISSUES TO BE RESOLVED by July 31, 2015:
1. EXTRA ELECTRICAL to INSTALL a new WORKING
*** IntelliBrite 5g Color LED Pool Light 12v; and,
2. PROVIDE ME with a revised invoice to show
"paid in full"
If these issues are not resolved I will file a
Complaint against Extra Electric with the Registrar of Contractors.
SINCERELY,
*** ***

Evidently there's a difference in opinions & to respond would be to engage on what should have been said or doneWe have been doing electrical repair & installations for years, are licensed, bonded and insured and never have had a complaint on all the years we have been in businessWe have provided all the job details and paper work with the previous responseWe only warranty the equipment/material we supply/install, we DO NOT warranty any equipment/material provided/install by others. If Ms*** provides a new pool light we can do the install at no cost and provide her a satisfied paid in full receipt, we would consider the outstanding balance of $as paid in fullWe feel this is a suitable solution and are looking to settling this matter with Ms***.Thank you,*** ***Extra Electrical, Inc
