We gave James B[redacted] $7000 for a roof/gutter job. He said he would start the job that week. In 2 months, James B[redacted] never touched the job whatsoever. We cancelled the contract, which James signed after showing up driving under a suspended license, for which he has numerous charges. James said he did not have our money. He texted that we had 2 choices: allow him to do the work, or sue him to return our 7 thousand dollars. At one point, James texted that he would give us our materials, and we could "call it even"???!!! We called the police. James B[redacted] lied to the [redacted] police chief, saying he had purchased materials. In fact, James only produced an invoice several days AFTER James signed that we cancelled the contract due to lack of work. On April 21, 2016, Judge [redacted] ordered James B[redacted] to return our money by July, or else charges of theft and receiving stolen property would proceed against James B[redacted] automatically and without question. We are still paying interest on the money James refused to return.
